What exactly does the title company do? Many involved in the real estate transaction process may not be able to give a clear answer, and we’re not just talking about buyers and sellers. Sometimes, title work can seem too complicated or possibly not “sexy” enough to discuss, but it's a crucial component of the real estate sales process. From running title searches to ensure that someone can buy a house without the fear of ownership issues to ensuring that all the numbers are correct when it comes time to sign those closing docs, title companies have a lot of behind the scenes work that goes unnoticed if done well and can terribly affect a transaction if done poorly. Today, Jessica Hocchalter, who is both owner of RG Title and a real estate agent with Realty Group, discusses the title process and we share the differences between the process in Minnesota and Florida.
