Today S&M are decoding the love languages! Now, these love languages have been around since the 90s, so most people know what they are, but do they understand the concept and what each language really means?

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the 5 Love Languages are:

· Quality Time

· Words of Affirmation

· Receiving Gifts

· Acts of Service

· Physical Touch

Love languages are all about how you show, give, and understand love. Each language is a special expression that leads to connection with your partner (as long as you know what their top love languages are and you’re doing the things!)

We all tend to give and express love based on our own top love languages but, surprise, not everyone is the same. Both you and your partner should take the quiz and share the results with each other and talk about it together (right after you listen to the pod!) Even if you’re not in a relationship it’s helpful to take the quiz and know what gets you hot!

Some of the love languages can feel uncomfortable for someone if they’re lower on their own list but it’s important to make the effort to show your partner love in the way they want to receive and feel it. This should come from a loving, genuine place. Be authentic!

If you feel like you’re forcing yourself to do this then there’s most likely something deeper going on in your relationship that needs to be addressed. Trust that feeling and take the step to do something about it. This shouldn't feel like a Herculean effort. If it does, that's a sign.
