Welcome to Episode 151 of the Inside Groove Show, the nation's premier Supermodified and Northeast short track podcast hosted by Tom Baker and produced by Steering Wheel Nation.
This special kickoff show for the 68th Budweiser International Classic Weekend at Oswego Speedway features over two hours of content that first takes you back 50 years to the 1974 season - the golden age for the Modified Sportsman division at Oswego. Remember the cars and stars, up to 80 strong, that would converge on the "Steel Palace" for their big race of the season, and how big a part of Classic Weekend that race became once it moved to the Saturday night slot.
Next, Baker celebrates the part of the Classic "family" that has been coming from North of the border in Canada to the speedway for most of its storied history. Remembering as many Canadian competitors as he can, the images conjured up in this segment of some of the most exciting moments ever witnessed will be different for each listener based on their age and time going to the track.
