HELLO AUDIO FICTION CREATIVES!

This Indie AF explores mental health issues in creatives and the superbly inspiring Ester Ellis (She / Her) candidly talks about working and creating through bi-polar episodes and times of depression and mania. But! She has found ways to manage the struggle and create such audio gems, and we celebrate some of her works put out into this wonderful world that you - yes you - can listen to right now.

If you too are struggling, remember Ester’s wise words - 'There’s some gold I can spin out of this…there is good that can come from this…’. There is a lot of positive talk in this episode about creating and understanding mental illness working with and inside and around creativity, and the importance of building a team of folks who can help and understand your own different creative phrases.

Ester also shares some amazing tips on creating and developing AF, thoughts on being a trans creative in the space, how collaboration is key and how positive the audio drama community seems to be. PLUS - WHY DO WE NEED SHOWRUNNERS AND WHY ARE NEW IDEAS SO TERRIBLE??

We also talk the intricacies of sound design, how Ester learned her craft on the job from knowing nothing to showrunning the grooviest shows, and the learning journey from StationBlue to her current audio playground.
