This week, I sit down for a long overdue conversation with my very talented barber and great friend Niles DeVinney. Niles has been in the hair industry for quite some time and after seeing multiple mutual friends being cut by him, I decided to abandon the hole in the wall I was going to give him a try. The rest is history and I never looked back! - After his schooling and cutting his teeth doing full service hair appointments in traditional salons, Niles ultimately decided to move his focus to barbering. This week, we talk about why he chose the hair industry for a career, the route of education he pursued, why he made that decision to move from a traditional salon to a more traditional barber shop, and so much more. That being said, there is a very interesting caveat to Niles story. In the midst of becoming one of the best barbers in the city, Niles tells me about a time got pinched for selling a decent amount of weed and his doing a bid in the “big house.” A wild story all around!
