Do you know some of the best ways to take care of yourself especially during tough times? Are you confused about how to start a self care routine when things are difficult and still make yourself a priority? What are some really great self care ideas that you can do today?

Margaret "Peg" Tallet, renowned nonprofit fundraiser and community leader, provides answers on how to practice self care, and be kind to yourself, even in tough times.

CEO of Peg Tallet Strategic Consulting, Peg is deeply committed to effective, sustainable non-profits as core community assets. Peg has a proven record of accomplishment in creating strong donor/investor relationships with top area philanthropists and global businesses, and for building collaborations among both for-profit and non-profits. She’s created great impact and has learned a lot about practicing self care and kindness everywhere she goes.

She has been active in fundraising, marketing communications, and collaborations in metro Detroit’s arts & cultural, social services, and education communities for three decades. She held leadership positions in some of the area's most successful organizations, including Chief External Relations Officer at the Detroit Zoo, Senior Director of Institutional Advancement at The Henry Ford, President of the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, where she oversaw the Detroit International Jazz Festival--the nation’s largest free music event, and the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Peg assumed a C-level role in 2013 with the Michigan Women's Foundation, as Chief Community Engagement Officer, responsible for all externally-facing efforts, including development, marketing communications, public and media relations, government affairs, special events as well as the organizational planning at the statewide organization. When the Foundation was called upon to direct the Enough SAID campaign to solve the backlog of untested rape kits in Detroit, Peg assumed the leadership of the unique public/private collaboration. She later became MWF’s Chief Operating Office where she managed a highly successful rebranding to Michigan Women Forward. Peg joined the ISAIC(Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center) team in 2020, charged with Strategy andDevelopment.

Among her most treasured professional experiences are serving as the driving force behind The Inspiration Project–the Campaign to Transform The Henry Ford, raising over $150 million to support the development and implementation of new exhibits and capital improvements to the 80-year-old institution, and as the co-founder and 20-year advisor/cheerleader for The Women's Power Breakfast that raised awareness for the hunger issue and more than $2Million for feeding the hungry.

Peg has an MBA from the State University of New York at Binghamton, with a concentration in Arts and Nonprofit Management, and a BA in Community Organization from St. Mary’s College/the University of Notre Dame. She and her husband Peter reside in Pleasant Ridge, Michigan. She loves to travel and to cook for family and friends.
