Message for 10/15/2023 "A Kingdom Come" By Justin McTeer.

*All verses are NLT unless otherwise noted*

Blessed are those who rejoice in their children. Blessed are those who live to see the downfall of their foes. Blessed is the man who lives with an intelligent wife. Blessed are those who have not made a slip of the tongue. Blessed are those who do not have to serve someone inferior to them. Blessed are those who have gained good sense. Blessed are those who speak to attentive listeners. Blessed are those who have gained wisdom. But no one is more blessed than the person who fears the Lord.

Matthew 5:3-11 (NIV) - Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.

Matthew 5:3 NIV - Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 4:23a - Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom.

Matthew 6:33 - Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Matthew 10:7 - Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

Mark 4:30 - Jesus said, “How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it?

Mark 4:26 - Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground.

John 18:33-36 - Then Pilate went back into his headquarters and called for Jesus to be brought to him. “Are you the king of the Jews?” he asked him. 34 Jesus replied, “Is this your own question, or did others tell you about me? 35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate retorted. “Your own people and their leading priests brought you to me for trial. Why? What have you done?” 36 Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.”

Matthew 4:17 - From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

WHERE

Luke 17:21 - You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.”

Mark 1:15 - “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

Matthew 28:18 - Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

WHEN

Luke 17:20-21 - One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. 21 You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.

Matthew 6:10 - May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

WHAT

Matthew 6:10 - May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.

Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

WHO

“Can you think of somebody who came from poor, insignificant circumstances, who mourned and grieved over the state of this world and over the people he met, and he was extremely important but did not think of himself as important, and he longed to see God’s world set right, and so with small acts of mercy to hurting individuals, he showed his pure devotion to the cause of the kingdom and he inserted himself into dangerous situations between people who hated each other. He got persecuted and in fact was killed for it.” - Tim Mackie
