As the future of Brexit and our government hangs in the balance, this week’s podcast is going to take a step back and look at the issue of public health. Deputy Editor Amna Kaleem discusses the challenges Brexit poses to public health issues with Prof. David Hunter at the Institute of Health & Society at Newcastle University. Prof. Hunter’s research focuses on health policy and management. He is involved with Evaluating the Role of Health & Wellbeing Board and serves as a special advisor to the WHO Regional Office for Europe. In this podcast, Prof. Hunter discusses the intensification of health problems post-Brexit, the possibility of food production causing public health issues, and the inclusion of the health sector in future trade deals.
