Overcoming racial segregation in the 1960s and implementing family-friendly policies in the 1980s, Stewart Beach evolved into a premier destination with attractions like roller skating rinks, dance floors, and beach volleyball courts. Despite changing recreational trends, it remains a cherished spot with essential amenities and a rich history, making it a point of pride for the Galveston community.
