Love God, love people, and change the world. We believe the life and lessons of Jesus aren’t just good advice, but are Good News for us here and now. As a church, we are all about following Jesus and know there’s no end to that journey—we’re more about becoming than arriving. We are committed to becoming a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, multiplying movement of Christ followers, equipping and empowering our kids and students to not only be the church of tomorrow, but the church of today.
When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Learn more at www.lbi.org/kollisch . Exile is a production of the Leo Baeck Institute , New York | Berlin and Antica Productions . It’s narrated by Mandy Patinkin. Executive Producers include Katrina Onstad, Stuart Coxe, and Bernie Blum. Senior Producer is Debbie Pacheco. Associate Producers are Hailey Choi and Emily Morantz. Research and translation by Isabella Kempf. Sound design and audio mix by Philip Wilson, with help from Cameron McIver. Theme music by Oliver Wickham. Voice acting by Natalia Bushnik. Special thanks to the Kollisch family for the use of Eva’s two memoirs, “Girl in Movement” and “The Ground Under My Feet”, the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College and their “Voices of Feminism Oral History Project”, and Soundtrack New York.…

Kingdom Living - Matthew 20:17-28: I asked some of the leading AI software to summarize the most common paths to greatness. They returned phrases like "innovation and creativity", "leadership and influence", "mastery of a skill", "overcoming adversity", "hard work", "continuous learning and growth" and so much more that has to do with bettering oneself. Yet, through the life and teachings of Jesus we discover that Godly Greatness is the inverse - it's about humility, sacrifice and servanthood that puts others first. This Sunday we'll explore a story about two of Jesus' first and closest followers who thought they had the makings of greatness, but ended up needing a change of ambition, appreciation and action.…
Kingdom Living - Matthew 20:1-16: In Matthew 20:1-16, Jesus presents the scandal of grace - a story that challenges our sense of fairness by revealing a generous God who pays the same wage to all workers. This parable exposes the trap of seeking rewards based on merit and highlights the freedom found in His unconditional grace. Rather than bargaining with God, we are invited into a covenant where His love is lavish and unearned. Experience the true freedom in His grace! This Sunday, join us at 9 or 11am as we explore how God's radical generosity transforms lives and frees us from envy. Bring a friend!…
Kingdom Living - Matthew 19:13-15: Jesus calls us to a childlike faith - humble, dependent and trusting. In Matthew 19:13-15, He welcomes children, revealing His heart for the next generation. How can we embrace this kingdom perspective in our lives today? Join us this Sunday as we discover what it means to receive the kingdom like a child.Join us at 9 or 11am. Bring a friend!…
Kingdom Living - Matthew 19:16-30: Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, "I look good," only to walk into a social setting and have somebody tell you that there's something in your teeth, a stain on your pants or a size sticker left on your shirt? This week we're exploring the Biblical story commonly called "The Rich Young Ruler" and it, too, is a story of a man who had looked closely at himself in the "mirror" of God's law, but was so blinded by his earthly treasure and all that he thought was "good" about himself, that he had grown oblivious to the broken state of his relationship with God. Join us on Sunday as we discover how Jesus graciously offers us the True Treasure of a right relationship with God.…
Kingdom Living - Matthew 19:1-12: What does it mean to truly live as God designed? In Matthew 19:1-12, Jesus invites us to aim for a life of virtue, beauty and love - not just avoiding failure but cultivating what is good and true. This Sunday, we’ll unpack His vision for human flourishing, the challenge of marriage and the freedom found in God's grace. Whether you're navigating relationships, personal struggles or big questions, there’s hope and purpose in Jesus. Join us at 9 or 11am to explore what it means to thrive in God’s design for humanity. Bring a friend!…
