Here are some of the e-mail marketing points that you must understand and apply if you want to be successful in turning your prospects into buyers:

Know your audience! Speak their language!

Questions you should ask regarding your target niche:
-How old are they?
-What is the gender break down between male and female?
-What type of social movements are they likely to follow? For example, if your audience is over 40, they would respond better to references to Downton Abbey than to Justin Timberlake.
-What problems do they have? What keeps them up at night worrying? (and how does your product or service help solve their problems?)

Subject lines

-purpose (get people to read, that’s it)

-length (4 to 5 words is ideal)

-Personalization (no!)

-Arouse curiosity!

Email Body

-small easily digestible blocks of text
-clear call to action “click on this link,� not “buy this product�
-Do’s and don’ts
Not too many links
Only ONE call to action
Prospect must see clear VALUE FOR THEM in clicking on your link

Offers

-Be generous
-target your potential buyer
-Sell benefits, not features

Getting into inboxes

-Using the right tool
-don’t use spam words!

“Join us to fight child pornography! Your dollars will help!�
-won’t get in anybody’s inbox!
