“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Almost every player that I train has aspirations of playing at the college or professional level. Playing at either of those levels is not only incredibly uncommon, but also very difficult. It takes the right kind of skill, discipline, self-awareness, and perseverance to make it there. But, it also takes a plan. For purposes of today’s post, I’m going to focus on getting recruited to play at the college level and the importance of having a plan to do so.

  1. Stars – These are your long-term goals, your dreams.
  2. Clouds – These are your short-term goals, typically looking out for a season or a year.
  3. Dirt – These are your immediate goals, your daily habits and behaviors.

Using these three categories of goals, in this episode of the PITCHABILITIES Podcast I dive into what it means to develop a recruiting plan.
