Parents & Addicts in Need’s Founder Flindt Andersen and Jason LaChance sat down with special guest Ted Perkins of Recovery Movie Meet-Ups. Ted is a former Hollywood studio executive, screenwriter and peer support group leader. Ted would entertain people with lavish trips in which alcohol was often a part of getting studio deals done. We talk about how this led more and more to his personal excess and reaching the point of enough being enough and Ted starting his sober journey. In his sobriety, his creativity began to thrive again. He was inspired to create Recovery Movie Meet-Ups, which uses films about Addiction & Recovery in group sessions to generate robust, transformative moments that can lead to lasting change. We also discuss his fascinating childhood, in which his parents were United States Foreign Service often times throwing lavish parties that included alcohol to obtain vital information for the US Government. Alcohol seemed always to be a part of many things surrounding his youth.
