A place where the natural and random conversations amongst friends, family and peers flow over a cuppa. Relaxed, funny and easy-going conversations where nothing is off limits and tangents are encouraged. Think of the chatty, fun and open conversations you have around a table when catching up with someone, and you think "OMG imagine if somebody overheard what we're talking about" because its gone down the most random and funny tangent... well that's what this podcast will be! Cuppa Tea and Talks With G
For this final and bonus episode for Season 2, I am talking with my sisters all about going "Out Out". We try to go on a night out every time we all get a weekend together, and they always leave us with the best memories and laughs. In this episode, we literally just reminisce on our favourite parts of going out, our first memories of going out and what we're most missing about going out at the moment while we can't go clubbing. This is a bonus episode literally because it's not the usual format for Cuppa Tea and Talks with G but I really enjoyed this chat and editing it, so I hope you do too! Nights out are such an important part of life, getting to socialise, catch up, dance and have a good time with friends, and hopefully, we'll get back to having them again really soon! As always, please hit subscribe on whatever platform you listen to your podcasts on to make sure you don't miss the next episode, and if you listen on iTunes please leave a review with any thoughts or opinions on this episode or the podcast as a whole, as always, I really love and appreciate hearing from you! Thanks again to my sisters for coming on to chat with me and share all their stories and memories! Roll on our next Sisters night out!!! Keep up to date with the upcoming episodes, some behind-the-scenes recording pics/vids, and other fun stuff over on Instagram by following @cuppateaandtalkswithg Hope you enjoy this one!!!! Cuppa Tea and Talks With G
In this week's episode, I'm talking to myself (that sounds weird). It's literally just an open and honest chat as sort of the final episode of Season 2 (but there will be a bonus episode coming next week too!) I always want to be as honest and open as I can and I do that in this episode. I'm talking about how even though things are opening up and hopefully starting to get better, I'm not really feeling that energised or excited lately. I say it numerous times throughout, but I'M FINE, I just have noticed my energy levels are low and I'm not feeling as motivated or inspired as I thought I would coming out of lockdowns. I know from previous that if I'm feeling a certain way you guarantee 10 other people are similar too and that's why I wanted to record it. Its not me moaning or being woeful (well I hope its not, I haven't listened back; hence the unedited part) but just sharing my thoughts and feelings incase what I'm feeling/saying resonates with someone else feeling the same too. If you are feeling any which way out of sorts, or not like yourself and you think you need additional help with it then please reach out to your GP/Medical professional, or contact one of the below who will be able to advise/help you: Mind Website: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/guides-to-support-and-services/crisis-services/helplines-listening-services/ Samaritans: Call 116 123 or visit https://www.samaritans.org/ As always, please hit subscribe on whatever platform you listen to your podcasts on to make sure you don't miss the next episode, and if you listen on iTunes please leave a review with any thoughts or opinions on this episode or the podcast as a whole, as always, I really love and appreciate hearing from you! I really hope everyone is feeling good at the moment, but I wanted this episode to be a reminder that if you're not that that's ok and normal, and hopefully you will soon! In this episode, I'm speaking to Jodie about endometriosis and what it's been like for her throughout her life. Jodie has spent all her teen and adult life living with and dealing with endometriosis unbeknownst to herself until she was finally diagnosed at 26. In 2019, Jodie set up Endometriosis South Coast, a charity to support and educate others living with endometriosis and adenomyosis and raise awareness of the illness. In this episode, I speak to Amber Badger about all things Manifestation. This is a topic I've wanted to cover since I started my podcast, and after reading a blog post written by Amber I knew she would be the perfect guest to be able to talk about it and look at all sides of the conversation. When you talk about manifestation, the law of attraction and positive mental attitude, you will always be met with sceptism, non-belief and uncertainty, and although myself and Amber both agree that we have practised manifestation, we also agree that the narrative around it and the "how-to's" aren't always as simple or easy as they're made out to be and that's exactly what we speak about in this episode. This is a topic that always brings up so many opinions and viewpoints and I don't think it is something that everyone will ever completely agree on, so I would love to hear your thoughts/experiences in my DMs. Follow Amber on: Instagram: @thewildwordsmith Website: https://www.thewildwordsmith.co.uk/ As always, please hit subscribe on whatever platform you listen to your podcasts on to make sure you don't miss the next episode, and if you listen on iTunes please leave a review with any thoughts or opinions on this episode or the podcast as a whole, as always, I really love and appreciate hearing from you! 1:25:43In this episode, I speak to Dawn Finnegan, a Makeup Artist, Blogger, and Business/Brand Owner. Like many others, 2020 took a massive toll on Dawn's business and the work she had lined up years in advance. We talk about how Dawn started, the risks she took to get to where she is today, and how the pandemic/lockdown was a blessing in disguise for her and her business. The time and headspace she got during the lockdowns pushed her to start her dream business, Golden Angel Tan, which she launched in November 2020 and she said this was something that she probably wouldn't have been able to do so soon otherwise. I love having conversations like this one because I think regardless of your path or life, they can be a welcomed reminder that trusting your instincts and following your dreams can pay off in ways you could never have even imagined! In this weeks' episode, I speak to my friend Elaine about her experience of living and dealing with anxiety. We cover when Elaine first started to notice her anxiety and how it manifested for her. We also look at what she has done to help herself and what she finds works best now when her anxiety flares up. Elaine humanises and normalises the whole subject of anxiety and shows that even though someone may be functioning normally, it doesn't mean there isn't something going on that we are unaware of. If anything that is discussed in this episode resonates with you and sounds like something you experience or have experienced previously I have included some helplines below as an initial point of contact if you want to speak to someone. With everything, if you don't feel 100% or feel like something is a bit off, please reach out and speak to someone, whether your family, friends, GP or even one of the helplines below. 57:26This is the second part of my conversation with Emma about her pregnancy, labour, and life with 4 kids, Kacey and triplets; Callie, Quinn and Minnie. Over the next 2 episodes I speak to Emma Lennon about her pregnancy and life with her triplet girls; Callie, Quinn, and Minnie, in May 2020. We continue on from last week where Emma has gone into labour and is about to deliver the girls. We talk about what it was like giving birth during lockdown while strict restrictions were still in place due to Covid-19, and what the restrictions meant for Emma and David while the girls were being cared for in the NICU ward for the first few weeks of their lives. Emma talks about how this all affected her and her family and why she felt so strongly about campaigning for better rights for herself and David and other parents in a similar situation. We also get to hear what a "typical" day looks like with 3 babies to care for and how she gets it all done! I've said so many times that Emma is a Supermom and after you hear this episode I think you'll also agree! **Content Warning** Mental Health, panic attacks, anxiety, and Lockdown/Pandemic As always, please hit subscribe on whatever platform you listen to your podcasts on to make sure you don't miss the next episode, and if you listen on iTunes please leave a review with any thoughts or opinions on this episode or the podcast as a whole, as always, I really love and appreciate hearing from you! 1:23:00In this episode, I speak to my friend Amy Perkins about our experiences of turning 30, and 30 things we wish we knew before turning 30 as a bit of a chat or nod to our younger selves! It's a topic that can sometimes have a bit of a stigma or taboo around it for some reason but we both had really positive and happy experiences around this milestone birthday and the privilege of growing older so we wanted to share our perspective and thoughts on the whole thing! This is a long episode so grab yourself a cuppa and get comfy (or put your trainers on and take us with you on a walk, whatever suits!), but there was so much information and interesting viewpoints in this one that I didn't want to edit too much out. It was a REALLY enjoyable conversation to record and I loved listening back to it while editing too so I hope you feel the same after listening. As always, please hit subscribe on whatever platform you listen to your podcasts on to make sure you don't miss the next episode, and if you listen on iTunes please leave a review with any thoughts or opinions on this episode or the podcast as a whole, as always, I really love and appreciate hearing from you! Cuppa Tea and Talks With G
So for the final episode in Series 1 I thought it would be a really nice "full-circle moment" to actually go back to the very first episode I ever recorded (and one I wasn't even sure would be used) because it was literally a practise chat, where I could test the mic, practise actually having a chat whilst being recorded and see if the format and my ideas for the podcast would actually work!!!! Thankfully it did but I also didn't want to lose this chat and the stuff we spoke about because we recorded it right in the middle of Lockdown and Isolation in April, during probably the craziest year of our lives so far! I appreciate that with the current situation and lockdown life still somewhat being a hot topic/bone of contention and restrictions still being in place, "Lockdown chat" may not be everyone's Cuppa Tea (pun intended ;)) but some of the things we spoke about and what we learnt during the first few weeks of lockdown are some of the things I want to be able to look back on and remember from all of this craziness! As this is the last episode of Series 1 I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone and anyone who has ever listened to an episode, has shared, commented or liked any of the posts on the Cuppa Tea and Talks With G Insta account and sent me any messages about the episodes and podcast! I have really loved every part of making Series 1 and I have learnt so much in doing so, which makes me so excited to come back for Series 2 with some more amazing guests and relatable/funny/interesting chats over a cuppa! Keep an eye on @cuppateaandtalkswithG (https://www.instagram.com/cuppateaandtalkswithg/) on Insta for some sneak peeks and info on Series 2 and when it will be coming out! Lots of Love, G xxx…
