Join Dr. Winfield Bevins and special guest Dr. Eliseo Mejia as they explore church planting through contextual intelligence, cultural intelligence, and compassion/emotional intelligence.
Dr. Eliseo A. Mejia is a pastor, missiologist, and a church-planting leader. He has been planting churches the last 30 years in different cultures, contexts, and countries. God opened the door to join Fresh Expressions USA team as the National Director of Expresiones Divinas (Fresh Expressions) in Spanish throughout the country.
He guides a wide variety of architects in different national settings and countries through all phases of the innovative progression of endeavors from start to completion. This context gracefully allows him to access God’s given gifts; God-sized goals, strengths, skills, and the current realities of entrepreneurs and organizations to choose essential phases to generate a new, workable, and sustainable future. He believes on creating healthy environments where pioneers and associations blossom.
He has used the Incubator model during the last 20 years to train and launch new church planters who are transforming communities in Kentucky, USA, and overseas with the life-transforming gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is an ordained elder in the Kentucky Annual Conference where he serves as the senior pastor of Paris First UMC. Furthermore, he served as the Associate Director of Hispanic, multiethnic, and international church planting ministries with the New Church and Congregational Development. He has served as the President of The National Association of Hispanic UMC Leaders. He was the founder and director of H.I.L.T. (Hispanic international Leadership Training).
He completed a master degree from Dallas Theological Seminary (1986). He holds a Doctor of Ministry and Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary May 20, 2017.
