For Neath, Llanelli and Wales, he was in the great tradition of Welsh outside halves, the dynamic embodiment of flair, guile and vision. As a rugby league player he scaled the heights of the game with Widnes, Warrington, Canterbury Bulldogs, North Queensland Cowboys, Wales and Great Britain. Since retiring, he has been in great demand as a broadcaster, hosting shows on BBC1 and S4C, and providing quick-witted insight as a summarizer and pundit on international match days.
