Just in time before christmas, we are happy to release a new episode of "Barock@home", a Podcast created by the International Bach Academy Stuttgart. In this episode academy-director Hans-Christoph Rademann and Dr Andreas Bomba, accompanied by Josephine Köhler, focus on Bach's famous »Cantata BWV 147«. Today's mostly known version was written on July 2nd 1723 in Leipzig for the Christian feast day »Maria's Visitation« – the original version, however, was composed in Weimar for the 4th Advent in 1716. These and many more topics such as literal content and musical realisation within the cantata will be reflected and discussed in this episode. You can find "Barock@home" on all common podcast platforms, as well as the media library of the Bachakademie Stuttgart on www.bachakademie.de.
