In our bible study of 1 Corinthians on October 27, 2024, led by Cole Tuck, we explored key themes relating to the gospel and Paul's approach to mission work. First, we discussed the core elements of the gospel, emphasizing its foundational message centered on Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. We were reminded that the gospel's power lies in its simplicity and truth, not in any human effort or eloquence.
Next, the class emphasized the need to keep personal ambitions out of evangelism. Paul’s example of humility and his prioritization of God's message over his own reputation served as a reminder that our goal is to glorify God, not to seek personal gain or recognition. Finally, we looked at Paul’s dedication to spreading the gospel and his strategic, Spirit-led mission work. His selflessness and unwavering commitment to sharing the good news with all people inspire us to reflect on our motivations and our roles in advancing the gospel today.
