In this episode, Grant McHerron chats with Ewen Levick, Nigel Pittaway, Julian Kerr and Ben Felton about their experiences and observations on the final day of the Land Forces 2024 event.

We kick off with the observation that the theme of the show has been Australian industry's involvement in supply chains with many announcements about contributions to programs both local and international. We also note that the show has had a relaxed but quaity feeling as most major hardware selections have already been made.

Army have been showing off their gear that's already in service but we also note that there's been a strategic lift test where a CH-47F was broken down for transport in a C-17. This leads to the concern that there's been a lack of discussion about littoral operations, despite this becoming a major direction for Army.

The discussion then moves on to funding only being guaranteed for the next two years which makes it difficult for industry to plan and invest without confirmed levels of funding out to five years. We wrap with the observation that speed to capability depends on transparency and a look at what attendees can expect from the inaugural ADM Australia-Korea Defence Congress in Seoul at the end of this month.
