This week, in what might be the funniest episode yet, Molly and Emese are joined by co-stars Amy Schumer and Brianne Howey. They get candid about motherhood, career evolution, and their new film, Kinda Pregnant —which unexpectedly led to Amy’s latest health discovery. Amy opens up about how public criticism led her to uncover her Cushing syndrome diagnosis, what it’s like to navigate comedy and Hollywood as a mom, and the importance of sharing birth stories without shame. Brianne shares how becoming a mother has shifted her perspective on work, how Ginny & Georgia ’s Georgia Miller compares to real-life parenting, and the power of female friendships in the industry. We also go behind the scenes of their new Netflix film, Kinda Pregnant —how Molly first got the script, why Amy and Brianne were drawn to the project, and what it means for women today. Plus, they reflect on their early career struggles, the moment they knew they “made it,” and how motherhood has reshaped their ambitions. From career highs to personal challenges, this episode is raw, funny, and packed with insights. Welcome to episode 10 of Quarantunes, where quarantine can’t stop our creativity! In this episode, we’ll hear musical expression from our artists at ART Center. 0:45 “Dances + Names” ART Center’s Virtual Song Creation Class This was one of the very first songs the class wrote and recorded together. The class wanted to use their names to add to the rhythm and beat of the song. The song was originally inspired by dance music since the class was listening to different kinds of dance music. A vintage alphabet toy and the “You Create Mixer” is being used throughout the song by one of the artists. The song was split into three different parts. Another artist can be heard singing a melody they wrote towards the second half. The class wanted to create a song that would hopefully get people moving and this is the result. 1:59 “Stay Up” ART Center’s Virtual Song Creation Class Stay Up was inspired from trying to stay awake when sleepy. The class was listening to rock music and some electronic music to get some inspiration. The class voted on a couple samples to include in the song and get the song started. One of the artists can be heard playing the drums at the end as an outro. If you listen closely, another artist can also be heard playing different keyboard parts throughout the song. 3:56 “Soul Inspiration” ART Center’s Virtual Song Creation Class For this song, the class was learning about soul music and got some inspiration from Aretha Franklin. While the piano is a sample the class voted on using for the song, one the artists can be heard playing a keyboard with an organ tone alongside it. The “You Create Mixer” and the “V-Tech Little Smart Alphabet Picture Desk” is also being used by one of the artists. These instruments can be heard harmonizing with some of the vocal samples and playing the main melody in the song. Another artist can be heard singing what they thought would best fit the song, which can be heard in the beginning and towards the end of the song. We would like to thank Timothy Holmes from ART Center for his beautiful album artwork. Thanks for listening! For more information about our organization, please visit our website www.ableartswork.org
