Lesson 287: You are my goal, my Father. Only You.
Manage episode 498529871 series 3674772
Lesson 287 from A Course in Miracles invites us to recognize the futility of worldly substitutions when compared to the peace of God and our true identity.
โข Every desire at its root is really the desire to remember our true self
โข All searching, hoping, and wishing in the world is essentially identity searching
โข The way to God is the way to your undistorted self, not a path to something separate
โข The central decision is always choosing love over fear
โข The ego's attachments are fear-based, disguised as safety, control, and familiarity
โข Split goals create split minds and inner conflict
โข Singularity of purpose aligns all thoughts and choices with the aim to remember God
โข The world can be seen as a classroom for forgiveness and a bridge back to love
โข The peace of God is our constant state beneath all temporary disturbances
โข Making God our only goal doesn't mean rejecting the world but seeing it as it truly is
Practice today's lesson by pausing whenever tempted by distraction and asking: "Will this bring me closer to remembering God or further into forgetting?"
