Send us a text In this episode, host Shane Lingo sits down with good friend and guest Gavin Knickerbocker for a conversation that’s a little out of this world, literally. Gavin has spent years researching reports of extraterrestrial life, UFOs, and government disclosures, and he believes there’s more going on in the skies than we’ve been told. Shane, on the other hand, comes at the topic with healthy skepticism and some big questions. Together, they dive into the most compelling pieces of evidence, explore government secrecy, debate popular alien theories, and wrestle with what it would mean if we’re not alone in the universe. It’s a respectful, thought-provoking dialogue between curiosity and conviction, perfect for believers, skeptics, and the undecided alike. Strap in, this conversation might challenge your assumptions, make you laugh, and just maybe open your mind.…
Send us a text In this episode, I’m excited to be back with you to explore a major Supreme Court case that could shape how we interpret the separation of church and state in America. While much of the recent news has focused on education policy, especially President Trump’s executive order shifting control back to states and local communities, today we turn our attention to the judicial branch. We’ll look closely at the upcoming case St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School v. Drummond, a case that has the potential to become a landmark decision. What’s at stake? What might this mean for public funding, religious schools, and constitutional interpretation moving forward? Let’s dig in. Send us a text In today's special Christmas episode, I talk about the story behind another famous Christmas carol from the past. Picture yourself on Christmas Eve standing in a nineteenth-century Catholic church in France. The spacious and dim Gothic church filled with a resounding sound of the organ playing, and a trained opera singer boisterously singing O Holy Night . This is the backdrop in which we find the origins of the famous Christmas Carol O Holy Night . Send us a text SHOW NOTES: In today's episode, I will be talking all about morality. One of the big questions we will wrestle with today is, "Do objective moral values exist?" In other words, are there actions as human beings that are always wrong no matter what we may think about those actions? Do we have any moral obligations? Another way of saying it is, are there things we ought to do and are there things we ought not do as human beings? Another question we will answer is, if objective moral values exist, what do we ground them in? Where do they come from? Join us as we dive in! Send us a text Show Notes: When was the last time you got into a healthy disagreement? A healthy debate in which you and another person were having a conversation and you happened to disagree on an idea or a topic? A conversation where each of you took the time to thoughtfully express why you believe what you believe without either of you getting offended at the end of the conversation? How often does that happen? In today's episode, I discuss the topic of "Civil Discourse," as I answer three important questions: Why is civil discourse so important? Why is it missing from our society today? And finally, what we can do about it? Article: speakingyourlingo.com/2023/05/29/what-happened-to-civil-discourse/ speakingyourlingo.com…

Send us a text SHOW NOTES Join us for Part 3 of this “Versus” Podcast Series as we wrestle with the fascinating topic of pacifism through the eyes of Leo Tolstoy and C.S. Lewis In this episode, I focus on the British author C.S. Lewis and his views on non-resistance and Pacifism. As you listen to this, it would be helpful to note that although I agree with Lewis on many topics of debate, as was true of Tolstoy, I do not necessarily agree with all of Lewis' views expressed in this Episode. With that said, my goal is to bring out the very best of his arguments in the most persuasive way possible as to try to convince the listener of his views.
