Why do so many of us get nervous when public speaking? Communication expert Lawrence Bernstein says the key to dealing with the pressure is as simple as having a casual chat. He introduces the "coffee shop test" as a way to help you overcome nerves, connect with your audience and deliver a message that truly resonates. After the talk, Modupe explains a similar approach in academia called the "Grandma test," and how public speaking can be as simple as a conversation with grandma. ×Konnichiwa! We’re still on a Japanese theme this month, as our special guest interviewee is Andy Takara, joining Spoons to talk Oriental collectibles, Celebration, and of course his passion for all things keshi. We start the show with a look forward to Celebration LA in 2027, and what we might expect. Moving swiftly on, the intro section sees the lads discuss their latest pick-ups, defend their selections in Action Playset Face-Off, and get quizzical with Spoons. The New Acquisitions feature has an international flavour as we sample new finds from Mexico, Poland, Spain, Germany and … err … Brentford. In Rebel Briefings, Andy P interviews Mark Harewood who tells of a close encounter with a Sith Lord in a Belfast toy shop. The team goes on to discuss conventions past and future, and Chris Fawcett coins it in. There’s news of discoveries in the diecast and baggie sectors, a look at old and new home made toys, and an update on the impending Palitoy publication. Licensee this month is British company Chad Valley. A short section surely, as they only released one item - or did they? All this and more in a packed 6-hour show, look out for the podcast in the usual places.…
We’re Celebrating this month, looking forward - or is it back? - to Celebration Japan, and the Oriental adventures of Jason and Spoons. Our special interview guest is Zia Rezvi, a Twickenham based collector, and an all round great guy. Rich delves deep into his collecting habits and his love for a galaxy far, far away. Otherwise, in a packed show, the lads sort out Disney’s upcoming Star Wars programming, tell all about their growing collections, and debate this month’s selections in the Action Playset Face-Off. Andy P has a Top quiz - but who will come up Trumps? And, the team highlights the best new acquisitions from around the collecting world. The Rebel Briefings section brings reports from Redditch, anticipation for Tokyo, and Chris’s collectable coins. We look forward to an upcoming Palitoy publication, and note the passing of a Leamington toy shop legend. Licensee this month is short and sweet, as we take a brief look at British company Trebor, and their Chewy treats. All this mixed with the usual stuff and nonsense, look for the podcast in the usual places.…
This month’s show really is going down the toilet! That is to say, the downstairs loo of our special guest Matt Skywalker-Jones, which he’s turned into a bijou display room. Matt tells all to Andy P, and talks about his collecting journey, and his many vintage passions. Elsewhere, the lads ponder Star Tourism, tell all about their latest finds, and battle it out in the Action Playset Face-Off, which sees a Death Star and an Ewok Village up against not one but two Cantina playsets. Jason hosts this month’s quiz, and in New Acquisition shout-outs, we hear about 12-back display shippers, Japanese pencil cases, Peruvian board games, Helix and Letraset shenanigans on eBay, and an HCF pencil pot. A packed Rebel Briefings section sees chat about latest happenings in the collecting universe, as we catch up with a new blog on early Kenner displays, hear about the latest charitable offering from the Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society, recall Thomas Troy’s Troop Transporter, take a look at a Palitoy book, a signed Survival Kit and a great Greek gun, before looking ahead to Echo Live and Celebration Japan. Licensee this month is Burger King, as the team sink their teeth into a whopper of a promotion across all three original trilogy movies. Plenty of bluff, bluster and banter besides, look for the podcast in all the usual places.…
Ho, ho, ho! But that’s enough from Jabba. It’s that time of year again, when thoughts turn to families, feasting, and festivities. Yes, it’s the Vintage Rebellion Christmas Special! Kicking things off in fine style we take a look back at vintage gifts received, the good, the bad, and the ugly. The team then consider casting their own nativity play - Star Wars style, of course. The New Acquisitions section sees Jason back on fine form with a list as long as Santa’s, and the other lads also picking up some pre-Christmas goodies. There’s a Carol service with the boys singing the praises of their favourite items this year, and a Christmas dinner with the tastiest treats of 2024 from around the collecting world. Spoons is joined by a very special guest for a geographical Quiz, and there’s a heartfelt session of gift giving and receiving between the podcast crew, with everyone firmly in the Christmas spirit. In Rebel Briefings we hear Echoes and go Farthest From, get excited about Retro, put action figures where the sun don’t shine, talk popular and dilapidated figures, mourn the passing of Greg Hildebrandt and Brian Turner, and get to the bones of Skeleton Crew. With plenty of festive fun and frolics to boot, we wish all our listeners all the very best for the festive season, however you may celebrate it. Look out for the podcast in all the usual places, and tell your friends!…
This month sees the team musing over museums, existing and yet to come. With the exciting news that 4 of the worlds biggest Star Wars collections are to be brought together in one place for public viewing, we’re delighted to welcome back Gus Lopez and Duncan Jenkins to the podcast, to tell us more in our main interview. There’s a canter through new acquisitions, a face-off of Action Playsets, and it’s Rich’s turn to get quizzical. We look at shout-outs from around the collecting world, with some rare US pieces, a curious LP, movie magazines, a blow moulded Vader, and a Danish Darth. In Rebel Briefings we get up to date with the latest stories including finalising figures with Fawcett, Rockett Fett ramblings, Dealing (or not Dealing), noting the passing of James Earl Jones and Robert Watts, cardback capers from New Zealand, silver fish in the attic, and a missing Amanaman. Licensee this month is Leewards Creative Crafts, and the wonderful worlds of latch hook rugs and stained glass sun catchers. As usual there’s plenty of frivolous banter along the way, look out for the podcast in all the usual places, and tell your friends!…
We're delighted to welcome Steve Denny as this month's special guest interviewee with Rich. Steve is a legend in collecting circles, one of the old school, in the game right from the start, and he has some great tales to tell. Rich poses an interesting question in this month's intro - what period of collecting would you go back to, but you can't bring anything back - and strictly no cheating! Elsewhere the lads rattle through their latest finds, and puzzle over a cardbacks quiz. There's the last ever Action Vehicle Face-Off (no cheering at the back there) and some great new acquisitions, ranging from an old bed headboard to a chintzy Darth Vader costume from Canada. In Rebel Briefings there's another insight into figure production with Chris Fawcett, and a look at a record breaking Rocket Fett, whether the case is now closed on grey limbed Snowtroopers, a cloning controversy, Palitoy factory photos and comic capers with Star Wars Weekly. Licensee this month is Bunch Books and Paradise Press, as we take a look into poster magazines, Special Collectors Editions, and more. Of course there's plenty of the usual bollux and banter along the way, look out for the podcast in all the usual places.…
Time for episode 113, with our hosts all set for their hols they kick off proceedings with tales of what Star Wars are essential suitcase additions. It’s holidays all round as this month, Canadian guest Bill Kennedy is on a tour of the UK and Ireland, and popped into Spoons’s house for a chat about Star Wars growing up in Canada, the origins of May the North be with you, and all things Die-cast - his dad bent his Y Wing! Listen in disbelief as Rich tells tale of a Latest Acquisition and the other chaps have some fab new pieces too - we can allow Pete a bit of modern with his sideshow Wol Cabbashite. Will Spoons make it a hat trick of Action Figure Face Offs or will Rich pick a new contender? Speaking of Rich, another tough quiz set by Chris Porteous should determine once and for all whether books do really exist in the industrial north. Stay tuned for some beautiful shoutouts spotted in the collecting sphere, and listen out for this month’s exciting rebel briefings: Fett, Castaway Ben Kenobis, the SWCA at 30 and cons of all sorts should get your ears-a-twitching. We cap it off with a tip top end to the show - Tip Top Ice Cream that is. The perfect Star Wars licensee for any holiday.…
In-between the UEFA Euros, the Cricket World cup, the horse racing, the snail world championships, Crufts, Cat of the Year show - the boys have managed to get together, talk Star Wars and get a show out. Vehicle face off asks the question 'will Richard continue to hand out the award to Spoons', probably yes. Rebel briefings sees a catch up with Chris Fawcett to hear about his Big Pick 3 (no, its not the Nostril Rummaging Championships). And we hi-five Hayjax to find out how many crusty second hand bedsheets Andy Preston owns in the licensee section. All the usual japes and tomfoolery.…
The Vintage Rebellion hits a nelson of episodes, 111. Shake your legs in respect. This month’s special guest is Blake Edgerton, who joins Rich to chat about collecting Down Under, and in particular, a wonderful story of an amazing vintage find, from a guy who inherited his father’s collection. The intro segment sees the lads discuss the current state of Star Wars, and where they’d like to see the saga develop in the years to come. Moving swiftly on, there’s a quick run through the latest purchases, a lively Action Vehicle Face-Off, and Andy P fires 20 questions at the others in this month’s quiz. An international New Acquisitions section sees the team looking at American MOCs, German lobby cards, French 3POs, and diecast and vinyl from Japan. In Rebel Briefings, Rich tells all about touring Tatooine, we look back at Echo Live, and hear from Pete about an exciting new job opportunity. There’s also news of a new auction venture for Nick Dykes, a shaggy dog story, and a letter from Palitoy. The lads wrap up with a look at a 70s toy shop, exercising Star Wars style, and black blobs on Jason’s group. This month’s licensee section sees the boys getting in a lather as they take a dive into Omni Cosmetics. Will they clean up, or wash out? Listen to find out! All this and the usual stuff and nonsense, look for the podcast in all the usual places.…
The podcast starts in sombre mood this month as after a brief intro about accessories, we remember our friend Craig Spivey, and celebrate the many and varied things that he brought to the world of Star Wars collecting. We’re talking Star Wars tourism this month, as the two Andy’s look back on their recent holiday to Hoth, Rich looks forward to touring Tatooine, and our special interview guest Matt Booker talks about the many Star Wars locations that you can visit in Britain, and beyond. Matt also brings us up to date on childhood collecting, his Boba Fettish, his shop, and much more. In the intro section the lads talk about their own finds from the Star Wars galaxy, and some wonderful new acquisitions from Russia, Greece, Australia and the USA. Spoons gets quizzical, and Action Vehicle Face-Off comes up with a surprising victor. Rebel Briefings finds us eager for Echo Live, forcing Fawcett on first shots, early birds and seven packs, and more. Licensee this month is Touchline as we answer that burning question of how many coins can fit in a money bag - or is it a purse, module or container? You’ll Smile when you find out. Plenty of bluff and banter besides, you can find the podcast in all the usual places:…
After the team’s discussion on the recent find of Peach Fett and his pre-production mates, our special interview guest this month is Neil Donnelly, who unearthed these fascinating pieces. Neil takes us through the story, answers the lads’ questions from last month, and talks about his love for all things Star Wars. Otherwise, with the New Year upon us and the podcast entering its 10th year, the boys ponder on how they might start as new collectors in 2024. What would they focus on, and what to look out for? The Intro section is busy as ever with talk of new acquisitions, a truly vintage quiz from Pete, and fantastic finds ranging from a German action figure display, to hairdryer packaging. The Action Vehicle Face-Off sees two All Terrain vehicles take on a pair of mini rigs. Who comes out victorious? You’ll have to listen to find out! In Rebel Briefings, the team looks at stories including a lost Leia, the return of an old friend, drama on the radio, and comic grading capers. Licensee this month comes from Brazil, as we take a deep dive into Glasslite, and try not to mention Vlix too much. All this and the usual stuff and nonsense - catch the podcast now, on your app of choice.…

It’s that time of year again - the big man’s getting ready for the main event, his team of little helpers preparing lots of toys for girls and boys….. No, not Santa! We’re talking about the one and only Mr Dave Tree, and the upcoming Farthest From vintage collecting event! Dave’s our main interview guest this month, and we take a deep dive into his events, his love for Palitoy, his work with Fantha Tracks, unproduced toys, the 2007 Palitoy Archive exhibit, and so much more. The lads are anticipating that other ' seasonal event' this winter, rounding up the latest and greatest new acquisitions from around the Star Wars galaxy, getting quizzical with Rich, and introducing the great new feature, the Action Vehicles Face-Off! Nerds? Nerds you say, on the Vintage Rebellion Podcast? Surely some mistake! But yes listeners, this month we open our doors to the lovely David Jackson from Nerd Matters, as our main interview guest. Pete chats about buttons, badges, pins and patches from the galaxy far, far away. The lads are in maudlin mood as they discuss what might happen to their collections when they’re gone, and then shed a tear for the very last Action Figure Face-Off - who will claim the final victory? Andy Norton takes us back to school with a GCSE inspired quiz, and we hear about some great acquisitions - and re-acquisitions. It’s a busy Rebel Briefings as the team asks about Ahsoka, calls out a colourful Facebook group, considers conventions at Echo (past) and Farthest From (future), finds about about Faucourt’s French figures folio, and covers TVR competitions. There’s a brand new prize on offer, a fantastic light-up figure stand from Mark Sinclair aka Oldie Yoda - listen in for a chance to win. Licensee this month is Stuart Hall - no, not that one - as we take a canter through notebooks, exercise books, sketch books, portfolios and the like. All this and more, with lots of craic and banter along the way, look out for the podcast in all the usual places.…
We are back after a bit of a break due to holidays and the such. Plus we had to wait for Jason to get through customs after he was detained trying to smuggle acres of Canadian cardboard in his luggage and down his britches. Our feature this month is The Nelvana Reunion panel featuring John Celestri, Larry Jacobs, and Brian Lemay and they talk about their experiences working on the Holiday Special, Droids, and Ewoks cartoons! The panel took place at ‘May the North be with You’ in Toronto on August 5th - Thanks to Chris Porteous. Action figure face-off is nearing its conclusion as Andy Preston defends Dengar, Andy Norton loves Luke Jedi, Jason Smith wonders over Warok and Peter Davis delights over the Death Star Droid. Richard Hutchinson has an impossible job trying to choose the winner. Rebel Briefings is jam packed with wondrous tales of collecting, Richard interviews Tom Scaife & others regarding a Pre-production find in the USA, the mystery of Willrow Hood is finally revealed and so much more Star Wars collecting goodness is discussed. STAR WARS The Vintage Rebellion Podcast

Star Wars Academy Award winner Roger Christian joins Chris Porteous and Andy 'Spoons' Norton to chat Star Wars set decoration, Alien and the life of Brian. The hosts try to put together a 'Top 5 of Toys we should maybe talk more about '. Do you agree with their choices and suggestions? Spoons shares a revelation recently discovered about an action figure that might make the list. In the four way Action Figure Face-off Andy Preston hops in an AT-AT to defend its Driver, Andy 'Spoons' Norton joins the Death Squad to see if its Commander is worthy, Jason goes with the Commander of the Rebels and Pete hops down to Jabba's Dungeon to get familiar with the most handsome of Action Figures - The Rancor Keeper. There's much more tomfoolery and hijinks japery in a huge Rebel Briefings section, and the licensee section has us focusing on Sigma - a favourite of everyone, but do we own much of it between us? There's also a chance to win one of Paleetoys Death Star Detention Block playsets, for a competition prize. These sets are available now from Paleetoys (Lee Gregory) on Facebook, they’re made in the vintage style like the Cantina or Land of the Jawas, and they make a great display base for figures. To have a chance of winning this excellent prize, what we’re asking you to do is to go outside and enjoy this lovely weather we’re having - and take your camera and your action figures! We want to see action figures photographed in an interesting outdoor environment. It could be urban or rural, it doesn’t matter, but what we’re looking for is a bit of artistic flair and invention. You could go for humour, movie accuracy, a single figure or a whole battle scene. The winner will be the one photo that we as a team collectively enjoy the most. Send in your entries to us via Facebook Messenger, Instagram, or email, to reach us by Sunday 23rd July. The winner will be announced next month!…

STAR WARS The Vintage Rebellion Podcast

With Celebration Europe now a fading memory, the team remain hungry for more Star Wars travels, and this month’s interview guest Davin Anderson joins Rich to discuss taking a tour to Tatooine - and the outskirts of Cairo in the 1930s, apparently. There’s a bumper New Acquisitions section as the lads tell all about their Celebration scores and other pick-ups, and try to stop Jason discussing every single piece of swag he’s collected. Action Figure Face-Off sees Pete try to defend Jason’s focus figure - how did he do? Andy P takes the role of quizmaster, boldly going where no host has gone before, and the boys pick out some fantastic finds from across the collecting community to discuss. In Rebel Briefings, there’s more con action, a look at grading and recent sales of modern retro figure prototypes, a report on Matt Fox’s May The Toys Be With You exhibition in Torquay, and a look at Lee Gregory’s Paleetoys playsets - now in production. The team also look at the upcoming Palitoy book from Bob Brechin, possible bogus Basa cardbacks, and a heartwarming tale of two old Polish ladies. This months licensee is a bit Random, as the lads run through the myriad of books and other oddments from US publisher Random House. 100 not out! The Vintage Rebellion podcast hits the century in style with a special show looking at the trends and changes in the collecting world since 2014, when we originally launched as the Star Wars Forum UK Podcast. Previous host and all round good guy Mark Daniels was available to join us offering a great contribution to the celebration with his vast knowledge and standing in the hobby. The lads reminisce about the birth of the podcast, and hot topics that we’ve discussed over the years. We have an interview with uber-collector and friend of the show Ron Salvatore, and Pete gives his own unique rundown on the TOP 100 most frequently sold action figures since the podcast started. As usual expect plenty of banter and fun as we round off 2022 with a bang. Normal service will be resumed for the January show, provided that Rich has survived pneumonia, and Pete and Jason manage their treks back from Bonny Scotland. The whole crew would like to wish all our listeners a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of New Years! We'd like to thank all previous hosts, guest hosts and everyone who has contributed to the podcast, and of course not forgetting our wonderful listeners.…

There’s news from the North this month, as Chris Porteous visits a Canadian con " May the North be with you " and brings us interviews with Kenner luminaries Stephen Geddes and Jim Swearingen, telling their tales about creating and sculpting the toys that are the main reason we’re all here. New Acquisitions heralds collectibles from Palitoy to pencils, tee shirts to two-packs, and books to bowling balls, and shout outs to some great finds from around the collecting world. Richard’s quiz mashes up the World Cup with worldwide collecting, and he has a tough choice to make in a lively Action Figure Face-Off. A lengthy Rebel Briefings section sees the team chat about current hot topics including a wonderful warehouse find, puzzling prices, Cassian’s climax, fantastic four-packs, and a catch up on conventions. STAR WARS The Vintage Rebellion Podcast

This latest chock full episode comes soon on the heels of the Echo Base Live event in Redditch. We have a bunch of interviews, collecting tales and reminisces of another epic Star Wars event. The podcast team had a couple of tables, a load of merchandise to give away (including our VHS tape) and scrumptious amounts of collectibles to sell. Jason sadly comes with some horrendous and tragic personal news and he wanted to continue doing the things he loves so joins us this month. Jason is a beloved part of our podcast and the Star Wars collecting community, so we supported his decision to soldier on in dark times and hope with everyones support we can help him in whatever way we can. The action figure face off sees not the most inspiring of figure choices, but Andy Preston shows gluttonous affection for Klaatu, Andy 'Spoons' Norton waxes lyrical about the Jawa, Jason warms to Weequay and Pete gets excited for Han and his technicolor Trenchcoat. Who will Richard choose as the most passionate defender? Rebel Briefings sees our Echo Base round-up with even more acquisitions, a stumpy Chewie, a look at the slow burn of the Andor series and an unusual union of a Falcon and a star Destroyer. It has to be talked about to be believed. Licencee sees Peter get all excited for StarFire badges, as he's never seen technology like it before. Will Andy Preston's eyes light up without the need for batteries? Tune in on all the usual places for fun and frolics in the collecting world.…

In the Action figure face off, its as competitive as ever as; Preston bigs up Richard's favourite malfunctioning portable bin R5-D4, Spoons doffs his helmet off to Luke in Stormtrooper disguise whilst Jason defends Walrusman and his many death sentences, bringing up a sizeable rear its Pete with the Tie Fighter Pilot. Andy ' Spoons' Norton returns us to the supermarkets with a sweep of all things price related in this months epic quiz, its an eye opener for sure. And you can play along at home. STAR WARS The Vintage Rebellion Podcast

Well, it’s summer, and the thwack of leather on willow is heard on village greens across England. Or it would be, if it wasn’t raining. But, that doesn’t dampen the spirits, as the lads select their first XI Star Wars action figures to put on their whites, step up to the crease, and try not to get caught leg before Wicket. Oh, and Rich does his best to explain the rules of cricket for those (like Jason) not in the know. After a brief catch-up on Obi-Wan on t’telly, the team looks ahead to the Andor series, which starts streaming in August. What do we know, and what do we expect? Listen in, and find out. Pete’s quiz takes us into the Valley of Death as the lads feel the heat in more ways than one. A quick canter through the lads’ latest purchases leads on to the Action Figure Face-Off, where Paploo, Squid Head and R2 Sensorscope do their best to overturn the firm favourite Luke Skywalker. Will our favourite farmboy find favour and come first? Some rare and wonderful new acquisitions are discussed, from across the Star Wars galaxy, before Rebel Briefings looks at putting the ‘con’ into conventions, stolen images, troublesome tickets, larging it at London Film & Comic Con, and an exciting e-book launch. We’re delighted to be joined this month by special guest Narayan S Naik who tells Rich about his amazing collection, focus collecting Boba Fett, Luke Jedi and Yoda, the Georgia Alliance collecting club, conventions, and much more, in a wide ranging and fascinating discussion. The boys wrap up in party mood, with an in-depth look at this month’s licensee Deeko, a British company which made Star Wars paper cups, plates and table ware, and reminisce about birthdays in the 70s and 80s. All this and the usual bluff, bluster and banter! Look for the podcast in all the regular places.…

It's time to Celebrate! But before the lads look back to Anaheim and forward to London, there's a round-up of Obi-Wan Kenobi on t'telly - is it any good? What did we like? What wasn't so great? And with that, it's time for a deep dive into Star Wars Celebrations. Jason and Chris tell all about highlights and hi-jinks in Anaheim, we look back at the announcements, the panels, the guests, and the Collecting Track, as well as interviews with other intrepid Brits who made the long trek to California. Rounding up the regular features, the boys delve into their recent purchases, delight in the Action Figure Face-Off, debate Richard's dodgy quiz questions, and discover some exciting new acquisitions from the wonderful World Wide Web. Rebel Briefings sees the lads discuss how Star Wars is helping one little boy recover from the horrors of conflict, look at the upcoming Retro Collection figures from the Obi-Wan series, and uncover more treasures in the latest PropStore extravaganza. No interview this month, as the lads look forward to Celebrating once again in London next year with the worldwide Star Wars community. What's there to look forward to? We'll give you a full rundown. The show wraps up with a licensee section on Marks & Spencer. Didn't they only produce one vintage item? Surely Pete and Preston can't talk for more than 5 minutes on this one ... can they? STAR WARS The Vintage Rebellion Podcast

The lads kick off by digging up some old fossils, as a tale of archaeological artefacts leads to a discussion on treasures lost and found. A debate on Revenge items making it to store shelves is followed by latest acquisitions, with an update on last month’s Kneesaa challenge. Has Rich succumbed to all things furry? You’ll have to listen and find out! Action Figure Face-off sees a General, a Dignitary, a Princess and a Bounty Hunter fight it out, with Jason surprising himself – and us – with his contribution. The lads discuss recent finds from around the Star Wars galaxy, and Pete’s quiz brings all to their knees(aa). In Rebel Briefings there’s talk of exhibitions, auctions, and conventions past and present. A five hour feast of vintage Star Wars collecting chowder. Join the lads in their quest to collect and talk about more stuff than their man caves can physically contain. Will the repair to the rift in Jason's collecting room hold out? Tune in. Joining the usual hosts this month is chief wizard of all things social media and sound editing, Chris Porteous. We recorded on a Sunday so we nabbed him and made him talk. Our main interview is with Bill Kimberlin who is known for his amazing VFX work on Return of the Jedi and possibly the best ever film outside of Star Wars: Star Trek III - The Search for Spock. Reviews of Echo Base Live enhance the lads pick ups this month, but does Richard finally add something to his collection? A scandal in the community has the jaws wagging and heated discussion breaks out when a sacred law of collecting is broken. The licensee this episode is Adam Joseph Industries, resulting in the hosts setting themselves a collecting challenge. Dial in and find out exactly what it is, and will Richard be joining in? Plus all the usual fun, frolics and vintage juiciness.…

Episode 92 - Brian’s Star Wars Toys - The Vintage Rebellion Podcast Top o’ the mornin’ to ye! That jolly little leprechaun Richard introduces a show recorded on St Patrick’s Day, with special guest Brian Hickey hailing from the Emerald Isle. The lads come up with their best blarney as they take a look at the Irish Star Wars connection. There’s TV talk, as we look back at the finale of The Book of Boba Fett, where Jason’s predictions came scarily true, and then forward to Obi-Wan, with a dive into the latest news and of course that trailer. The lads run down a bumper list of latest acquisitions and give shout outs to some wonderful finds from around the collecting world, followed by a lively Action Figure Face-Off, and a quiz led by Pete, but with a strong Canadian flavour. Rebel Briefings sees the boys hear an amazing Kiwi tale from Mark Catley, look ahead to a collection of conventions, go scouting for toys, discover a body in the River Thames, and ponder the sale of a grail. Our main interview guest Brian Hickey is a photographer with an amazing eye for action shots of action figures, and a talent for recreating movie scenes in miniature. We talk about childhood, collecting, projects, and future plans. The show rounds off not with a bang, but a bag, as the lads look at Frankel & Roth school bags and pencil cases. From Jason’s con bag to Spoons’ satchel, it’s a quick belt through bags and backpacks of all kinds. All this and the usual stuff and nonsense, look out for the podcast in all the usual places. Our technical Jedi, Mr Chris Porteous has also put this altogether on the moving pictures website: https://youtu.be/plhQz6Wis2c…

STAR WARS The Vintage Rebellion Podcast

The Vintage Rebellion Returns. Or is it the Return of the Vintage Rebellion, or maybe even the Revenge of... okay, okay you get the point. We blame Richard and possibly Jason for the lack of January release. Its a long story, but considering our length in show you don't need to hear it. Its Episode 91! Our very specialist of guests this month is Star Wars Podcasting Royalty, Sir Jimmy Mac from Rebel Force Radio. Pete has a good old fashioned chat about collecting, podcasting and anything else Star Wars related. With Christmas but a fading memory, the lads rekindle some of the festive spirit with a recap of the best (and worst) Star Wars gifts they’ve received, and look forward hopefully to their dream purchases in 2022. The New Acquisitions section leads on quickly into a discussion on the Book of Boba Fett - did we think it’s a hit or a miss? Action Figure Face-Off features 3 flyboys and a Princess. Who will come out on top? Listen to find out. After a cracking quiz from Andy Spoons, the team goes on to discuss this month’s round up of fantastic finds from around the community. In Rebel Briefings the lads look at an unusual moment in Empire, a sad tale of a loss in the post, and a recap of the Special Editions which are now 25 years old. And to close out the show, the licensee section features Star Wars jewellery by Weingeroff, and sold by Factors, one of the earliest licensed products. All this and the usual nonsense and senility, look out for the podcast in all the usual places.…
