In this special crossover episode, we’re joined by our friends from the Raised Voices team for a wide-ranging conversation on gender-based violence, sextortion, and mental health. Together, we explore how these issues affect families and communities—both in Zambia and in the Canadian North—and the ways they’re normalized, silenced, and too often misunderstood.
This episode looks closely at the intergenerational impact of GBV, how cultural stigma shapes responses to mental health, and the role of justice systems in either reinforcing harm or creating pathways toward healing. We also discuss the pressures facing young people online, the criminalization of survivors, and the need for community-driven support that centers safety, dignity, and real accountability.
