THIS EPISODE ORIGINALLY AIRED ON RADIO IN AUGUST 2020

I am incredibly proud of this episode. Featuring seven guests and just as many collaborators, it was six weeks of pre-production, and two weeks of post-production. This episode was our most significant production effort to date.

These stories from the guests are a gift to Suzanne Goin, Caroline Styne, Matt Duggan, and all the staff at Lucques, to let them all know how special they made us feel.

Special Lucques Guest | Emily Halpern

She is the screenwriter of the Olivia Wilde-directed movie “Booksmart," released in 2019.

She was also a writer and Co-excecutive producer of the hit TV series, "Black-Ish."

Emily had her second date with her husband Evan, ticked away at a corner table in the bar at Lucques. They both knew they had found each other’s soulmate that night. They even had their wedding at Lucques. Sadly, their daughter, Franny, just missed her first Sunday Super at Lucques before the Pandemic shut everything down.

Special Lucques Guest | Dr. Carol Tavris

Dr. Carol Tavris, is a social psychologist and writer, and Co-Author of "Mistakes Were Made (but not by ME)" She is also General Manager Matthew Duggan’s favorite social psychologist dance partner.

They both went to Brandeis. She got out with a degree.

Special Lucques Guest | Jonathan “Jon” Bruno

Actor & Voice Over Actor

Jon Bruno is an actor, a voice -over artist and a radio talent!

Jon had been going to Lucques since 1994 with his parents, and later with his husband, Doug. ALWAYS booth 14. They were planning a wedding party at nearby A.O.C. before the pandemic changed all of that. Jon is the kind of guy who could walk right in the kitchen door and you wouldn’t think twice of it.

Jon has been loyal and a super fan for so long, once, he was even called on to deliver bread from A.O.C. to Lucques when they ran out!
