Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino reunite for the Helium Boys Podcast to discuss the gloriousness that is the return of college football with No. 23 USC set to take on No. 13 LSU in the Modelo Vegas Kickoff Classic Sunday at Allegiant Stadium (4:30 p.m. PST; ABC).

The Helium Boys preview the 2024 season and the opener against the Bayou Bengals with a new format as well as bringing back a couple of favorite segments from podcasts past Take It or Leave It and the Overtime period. They also answer your questions.

But the episode opens with the Helium Boys staple 'Two-Minute Drill,' which takes on new meaning this season in college football with the implementation of a two-minute warning stoppage. Shotgun makes sure to get in a quick run of Stock Ups heading into the season during his two minutes while Chris initially has to wait to get the call in his headset as he mimics the new technology that will be allowed on the field for the first time in college football this season.

Chris and Shotgun then dive into the approaching season opener and the opportunity that it is for both the Trojans and the Tigers -- two programs that enter as nearly mirror images as the similarities range up and down the gamut of storylines heading into the first game. They look at the key storyline as well as the player that could be a difference maker and the matchup that could determine the outcome. They also play a little 'fill in the blank' with the causation of a USC win and loss.

After a break, Chris quizzes Shotgun with Take It or Leave It. The Helium Boys also answer your mailbag questions about a number of topics spanning from the defensive coordinator preferences and how to best assess preseason intrasquad scrimmages before a couple of Vegas themed inquiries. The episode concludes with the Overtime section focused on Olympic sports Chris wants Shotgun to make a determination on.
