Happy New Year! In this episode, Brett and Laura talk about New Year's Resolutions. However, not in the way you may think. Brett and Laura have a negative connotation when it comes to New Year's Resolutions. Too many times, they see people give up on them early in the year when it gets challenging. Also, Brett talks about how often people will only set up a couple of resolutions instead of multiple. This is why instead of Resolutions, Brett and Laura have a goal system that they operate by.
Brett and Laura have essentially set up five different ways they want to grow as people. From physical health to mental health, to even spiritual, they create about three to four goals in each of these five groups. This helps Brett and Laura track their progress easily as well as grow in every aspect of their life instead of putting too much emphasis on just one aspect. The secret that keeps this system together is Brett and Laura’s communication and commitment to each other. By having these conversations with your partner and getting on the same page with your partner.
