Baby Boomers have lived through and celebrated the winter holidays like Christmas, Hannukah, Diwali and Kwanza for six or seven decades, but things are quite different than when we were growing up. In this episode, clinical psychologist Dr. Cynthia Post provides suggestions on navigating expectations through the season.
Examples: Boomers might be on second or even third marriages and maybe the spouses are from different religions or different cultures. What are some ways to deal with the different expectations of how to celebrate the holidays?
Some Boomers in their 60s or 70s might be single or widowed and might be spending the holidays alone. What are some ways to cope with loneliness when everyone around them is celebrating?
