While many people think that it isn’t a big deal and it’s just for fun, porn is one of the largest addictions. People don’t realize how much watching porn can seep into their relationship. Brett and Laura discuss this very idea.
There are a lot of issues porn can cause in a relationship. Laura mentions one of these issues, and that’s insecurity. If one member of the relationship is addicted and constantly watches porn, the other member may begin to feel insecure in the relationship. They feel that they aren’t enough or properly satisfying their partner. This is one of the many ways that porn can affect your marriage that Brett and Laura talk about.
Overall, Brett and Laura highlight that the most important thing to do when wanting to discuss not just porn but also sex with your partner is communication. You have to communicate why you think porn is against your core beliefs. You also have to communicate what you need from your partner sexually and how you can also meet their needs. Marriage is all about compromise, and Brett and Laura drive home the point that compromise is also important in your sex life in this episode of The Donkey and The Bee.
