We are back for another episode in the Sow Series with Whitney Kinservik and I. Today we are talking about Opportunity. I think this episode provides a pretty good recap of where we are in the series so I won’t be redundant and rehash that here.
If you are just joining us in the Sow series you may want to go back and listen to the first 2 episodes of this series. And, the Seeds series is the prequel to this series, so if you really want to get up to speed, go give those episodes a listen.
Here are the key takeaways:
1. Opportunity is not just happenstance it is creating the circumstance.
2. It’s not about believing what you can see, it’s about believing what you can be.
3. You should not be dependent on the outcome of an opportunity, instead, expand your thinking to consider if that opportunity is available and what are ALL of the opportunities that could be possible.
4. Opportunity is not finite. It is continuous and all around us. Don’t let the car salesman convince you otherwise.
5. There is not a scarcity of opportunities, opportunities are abundant.
6. Bounce the opportunities you are considering off of your values to evaluate if the opportunity is right for you.
HOMEWORK:
Abundance Ideation
- Spend 5 minutes and consider What opportunities can we see and what opportunities can we not see that are available to us. Think Big, really push the limits, let nothing hold you back.
- So take a minute to write down the answer to this…If there were no limits, what would the opportunities be?
