Happy Halloween, to celebrate the occasion we will be having a look at a very spooky subject in this first Halloween Special.
This is part 1 of a multipart series looking at the history of Bioweapons, one of the most destructive and diabolical WMDs and forms of warfare. In part 1 we will cover the history of theses weapons starting with a look at their development, use in conflicts over the years, moral implications which ultimately lead to the banning of Bioweapons in the 1970s. This also lead to the formation of the BWC (Biological Weapons Convention), which is a treaty signed by most but not all nations preventing the development, use and stockpiling of Bioweapons, how practical is the treaty in reality?
The second part of the show will cover the history of Bioweapons looking at their use in the 1500s through to the 1800s. Starting with Cortez destruction of the Aztec Empire going through to the time of European colonisation, and how Smallpox was used as a Bioweapon/eradication tool against indigenous populations in North America and Australia by the British military.
