Member of the Week: Courtney Gregory

The Roots

Courtney Gregory is the 2021 MN AMA District 23 ARMCA Women’s Enduro Champion! Though she saw great success in her Enduro season in 2021, she also enjoys racing Hare Scrambles in the Sportsman B and Women’s C classes. Her humble beginnings started with Andrew Hook’s (one of our Flat Track Reps on the District 23 ARMCA Board) PW50, where she and her sister first got their feet wet. After spending a couple summers gardening to earn their bikes, they finally received their own motorcycles. By mid-childhood, Courtney was racing in District 23 ARMCA and has been ever since.

Courtney’s greatest racing accomplishment is when she finished her first National Enduro in Marquette, MI on a 1986 Honda XR200. With her goals set on competing at more national events in 2022, Courtney is excited to focus on riding and training now that she’s finished college. Inspired by the other women racing in D23 ARMCA, and strongly supported by her travel buddy, also known as dad, there’s no limit to where Courtney can take her off-road racing career. Especially if a race day is topped off with a cold slice of watermelon.

In addition to riding and racing, Courtney enjoys being in the outdoors. She loves running, mountain biking, and snow skiing, and even coaches kids in skiing. Motorcycling has given Courtney a tight-knit second family, and she encourages other women “to not rush the process of moving up to bigger bikes.” Practicing on smaller bikes gives women “the opportunity to work on solidifying technical riding skills.” The best advice Courtney has ever received is to “always keep it fun, never take yourself too seriously, and always be riding a motorcycle whenever you can,” something we can all take to heart.
