Chris Nowinski is a former football player at Harvard University and professional wrestler with WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment. After enduring a career-ending head injury, Chris has dedicated his professional life to serving patients and families affected by brain trauma, particularly Chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that develops after repeated head injuries. One of the things we've loved most about Portrait of a Lady on Fire as a phenomenon has been the fan art, and some of the most delightful fan art has come from Teryn, a.k.a. @badportraitfanart who, in their own words, has "never liked visual arts" and yet has made over 100 artworks to date, 99 of which are scenes from Portrait and are now available as a book. On top of that, they've donated all of the profits from their sales to queer non-profits, including the most recent, Lavender Library.
