Welcome to episode four of the Intrapreneur Podcast, brought to you by the Stone and Chalk Group.
Hi, there. I'm Ben Dunn, and I work in the advisory team at Stone and Chalk. Today I'm here to talk with Stone and Chalk's Chris Busson about competition, specifically why everyone needs competition even if they don't want it, and what to do to properly leverage them. If you want to discuss this further, there are going to be details at the end of the podcast.
Today we will ask how this fits into a Strategy on a Page (SOAP).
The soap is meant to capture where you play and how you win. So there are the two key facets of the strategy we are going to chat about today; understanding who your competition is and what they're trying to do. What's different about what they're doing and how are you going to succeed?
You can have a purpose, but you need to understand how you are comparing against what's already in the market. What is your differentiator, and will it work?
