There is power in beginning again. The people of God worked hard to build the altar and lay the foundation. Then for 16 years, the work ceased. How will the people of God come back from this ‘false start’? How will the work of God begin again? We notice as we read that God does not rebuild the temple. God does not supernaturally do the work for the people. Instead, God raises up people to accomplish the will of God in some surprising ways.
This Sabbath, we continue in our sermon series Re[Build]: God's Promises, A Sure Foundation. In this series on the book of Ezra, we witness firsthand how the exiled people of God find their way. We see this week that it’s never too late to start again. Pastor Tara VinCross shared a message entitled, “Living Under God’s Faithfulness.” You are invited to pray and reflect on Ezra 5 and 6 in preparation for the message.
