The Five Dollar Bin w/ Mark and Rick

It’s the VERY LAST EPISODE of the podcast (sheds tear) and Mark, Rick and Brian are saying Goodbye after 5 years of having extreme movie fun in style. The fellas share some stats about the podcast's run including the Most Popular Episode, the Longest Episode and the primary Go-To Actors that have appeared in most of their "reviewsits." The lads connect the last movie they covered to the very first movie to come full circle, play the "Batman Sound FX Game" and the "Five Dollar Bin Favorite Characters Game." The gents also read off the final completed Stack Rank List, point out which films were the biggest surprises and biggest disappointments to them upon revisit and Brian gifts a very special present to Mark's future cinemaniac. Before providing their final words, the "Box Office Buds" get a last bad transition in there, allow a sign off from Mrs. Chip and friends....and have just one more trick up their sleeves. Bill and Ted may have created the question of whether the podcast ever existed in the first place but YES IT DID and we THANK YOU, CINEMANIACS!!…

It's the Penultimate episode of the podcast and the lads celebrate by sharing some more BIG NEWS from the Mark camp, enjoying some substitute cigars and deciding to save the teary goodbyes until the Part 2 Finale. The gents brainstorm a new Full House spin-off based upon Lori Loughlin being in the news, go into a strange deep dive of the Highlander movies and each share a number of select films that they didn't get to cover over the past 5 years aka the "Wish (We Had Done) List." The fellas also have a mini "reviewsit" of Batman & Robin to finally complete the quadrilogy, run through the list of cold puns uttered by Arnold's Mr. Freeze and come up with some heat puns for a what-could-have-been 5th movie of the series titled "Batman, Robin & Batgirl." There's one episode to go....if you miss this one it will be the BANE of your existence!…

With the Final Episodes upon them Mark, Rick and Brian share some final thoughts on the television parody Stay Tuned, while also taking a poll of falling asleep with the TV On vs the TV Off. Inspired by TV Game Shows, the lads get into 'answer mode' by trying to guess the budget of this parody film, the best known for projects for John Ritter out of his great filmography and play a round of the IMDB Keyword game with some hidden themes kept from the players. The lads also recall the interactive Choose-Your-Own-Adventure movie Mr. Payback that they caught in the theater, engage in some saucy Rhyme Time and share the trailers of some more TV-to-Film big screen adaptations currently in production for Hollywood. In a World.....where grown men talk about movies they saw when they were kids, join these "Goofy Game Show Hosts" by tweeting them @5DollarBinPOD to risk it all on some countless cinema categories!…

It's the FINAL FOUR EPISODES! Mark, Rick and Brian welcome back returning guest Josh Damoulakis for a "reviewsit" of the TV overload known as Stay Tuned. The gents discuss how this television parody movie is extremely difficult to find online or streaming, run through the complete list of shows and commercials that were mocked throughout the film and they get all excited to play the game of "Spot the Spota" once again involving the calling card of frequent "reviewsit" director Peter Hyams. The lads also ponder if Home Improvement got some Tool Time segment ideas from a few of the scenes, they add some more modern shows to update the sadistic programming of 'Hellevision' and engage in quite a lot of talk about donuts. Turn off that TV before you get sucked in (literally) as this one is much safer and also more fun than taking "Doogie fishing"....if you know what we mean!…

The lads learn of a different transportation mode originally intended before the time traveling phone booth was used, how there was supposed to be a 3rd member of Wyld Stallyns named 'Bob' and how Bill & Ted were almost the cause of the Titanic sinking. The fellas also research the history of the Ziggy Pig ice cream challenge, recap some disturbing episodes of sitcoms such as that time Jesse James murdered The Brady Bunch or when Punky Brewster fought a fire cave demon and they present the epic conclusion to their new tale "Bill & Ted's Unprecedented Expedition." After taking advantage of the rules of circular time travel, the lads ponder the questions of whether the phone booth was inspired by Doctor Who, if Bill is the leader of the duo and what high school clique the heroes would have belonged to. The gents also point out the cringe worthy scene, talk rumors of a potential 3rd film and express interest in a side movie where we'd see all the goodbyes to the historical friends post-project. On top of that, the fellas learn of Mark's brotherly saloon fights, hear about which Brady Bunch episode traumatized Rick and they pick up some more characters from history along the way. So much most excellent goodness from these "Myld Stallyns" you'll have to travel back to the start of the episode again and again to catch it all!…

Mark, Rick and Brian have a "reviewsit" of ¡Three Amigos!, leading to some very mixed reactions and counter views among the gents. The lads compare the film's premise to The Magnificent Seven and A Bug's Life, look up how much 100,000 pesos was worth back in 1916 and despite seeing the movie dozens of times Mark realizes he never saw the first 20 minutes. The fellas also discover Randy Newman as the voice of The Singing Bush, discuss risqué movies shown to them in grade school and Rick complains about the standard of working for decades before you can retire. Adjust your giant, sparkly hats and get ready for a "plethora" of fun with these 3....FRIENDS, did we do that right?…

Brian also theorizes how the film could be a prequel to Home Alone, the gents both do some "Woody Walken" impressions and they come up with their performance act for the next season of America's Got Talent. Even though a freak thunderstorm breaks out during this episode you'll be safe under the bed with these lesser known Savage brothers and maybe a couple peanut butter and onion sandwiches too...Eww!…

Mark, Rick and Brian share some final thoughts on the film Independence Day, while also questioning its abbreviation nickname of 'ID4.' The lads suggest some alternative voice tones for the alien voices, Rick pitches a movie where he just reads off a list of enemies and Mark shares some fun, false and even "painful" facts about the film. The fellas also create a definitive list of their favorite pop culture presidents, share the actor who is the "magic degree of separation connector" and Brian stumbles upon a Disney movie he actually has not seen. Hail to these Commanders-in-Cinema, then submit your ballot @5DollarBinPOD to join them as their movie running mates!…

Mark, Rick and Brian wish the listeners a belated Happy 4th of July and celebrate with some fanfare the 2 year anniversary of the podcast!!! 2 years...wowie kazowie!!! Clearly, the best way to celebrate both of these events is with a "reviewsit" of the film Independence Day. The lads recall how the movie kicked off the 'Will Smith summer weekends' to follow, Rick applies his "half beer analogy" to the inside of the alien spaceships and Brian tries his hand at sci-fi foley work. The fellas also discuss the unusual line of presidential succession in the world of the film, Mark gets super excited for the Frutopia product placement and way too many Harvey Fierstein impressions occur throughout. Whether you are a newbie or a devoted 2-year cinemaniac, jump into your crop duster and join these defenders of the Earth as they engage in a close encounter....of the audible kind!…

Mark, Rick and Brian share some final thoughts on Harry and Hendersons and Mark perhaps makes a successful segue transition! The gents dip into their memories of the Harry TV series, become somewhat surprised of the lack of extra trivia and fun facts for the film and ask the question as to whether movie technological achievement is enough to warrant revisiting a film over and over. The fellas also play the 'Amazon Review Guessing Game,' run through a list of other Bigfoot films that exist and have a deep discussion on the proper way to pluralize the word "Sasquatch." You can tweet this Encarta-like anthropology guide @5DollarBinPOD to get all your reference needs on the subject of Sasquatch, Sasquatches and even Sasqui!…

Mark, Rick and Brian jump into the official start of summer with their "reviewsit" of Harry and the Hendersons. Rick & Brian come to the realization that they never saw the movie in full previously, Mark shares how the film helped inform his education of corsages and bleu cheese, and the lads wonder what exactly goes down in the Henderson basement behind closed doors. The lads also pitch ideas for a reboot that includes dog armies and hybrid humans, offer their own parental warnings that they feel were lacking for the movie and cast the missing role of "Grandma Henderson." You'll have a DEAR ol' time...or err DEER ol' time...listening to the calls of this wild episode! Oh I get it!…

Mark, Rick and Brian pass along some final thoughts on The Phantom, while trying to also scour online for hard-to-find Phantom merchandise. The lads share some fun facts and original casting choices for the film, Mark adds Rick and Brian to The Defenders of the Earth theme song and they test out their theory that there were fewer easily recognizable film scores created after the mid-90s. The fellas also run down a list of Oscar-nominated music, look up other 1930s heroes contemporary to The Phantom and discover the odd character of 'Bozo the Iron Man.' You can tweet these "Heroes of the Home Theater" @5DollarBinPOD to summon them to their next movie watching adventure!…
