Episode Description: Jessica B. Harris may have been born and raised in New York City, but she has Tennessee roots through her father and has spent much of her life split between homes in the Northeast and the South – specifically New Orleans. For more than fifty years, she has been a college professor, a writer, and a lecturer, and her many books have earned her a reputation as an authority on food of the African Diaspora, as well as a lifetime achievement award from the James Beard Foundation. A few years back, Netflix adapted her book, High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America , into a 4 part docuseries. And I’m very proud to say that she’s a longtime contributor to Southern Living with a regular column called The Welcome Table. This episode was recorded in the Southern Living Birmingham studios, and Sid and Jessica talked about her mother’s signature mac and cheese, the cast-iron skillet she’d be sure to save if ever her house were on fire, and her dear friend, the late New Orleans chef Leah Chase. The LA riots aren’t what the media says they are. Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass, and the left are spinning the narrative to blame Trump — and we’re not buying it. This episode breaks down the gaslighting campaign, what’s really happening in LA, and how legacy media weaponizes chaos.
This week marks 5 years since the death of George Floyd — an event that shook the nation and sparked months of protests and unrest. In this episode, we revisit the incident in full, including real-time reactions to the most revealing and difficult moments from the police body cam footage. We believe law enforcement has a responsibility to preserve life, and the force used after Floyd became unresponsive was clearly excessive. But the media’s framing of this tragedy was deeply misleading from the start. Before the full footage was ever released, the public was fed selectively edited clips that pushed a narrative centered entirely on race — a narrative that still shapes how people remember the case. Our conclusion: The truth got lost in the narrative. And the media played a much bigger role than most are willing to admit.…
Far gone are the days of integrity in journalism. The motto of today’s media landscape might as well be: “Don’t believe your lying eyes and ears.” The health cover-up surrounding Joe Biden is the latest and clearest example. For years—since at least 2019—conservatives, doctors, and political commentators have raised serious concerns about Biden’s mental acuity. We were dismissed. Mocked. Called conspiracy theorists. Donald Trump was ridiculed for calling him “Sleepy Joe,” and critics constantly tried to equate Trump’s energy with Biden’s visible decline. Now, we have a supposed cancer diagnosis. And suddenly, the narrative shifts—but not in the way you’d expect. According to medical experts, a cancer of this severity would take years—possibly a decade—to develop. The idea that the President’s elite medical team was unaware until now? That’s nearly impossible. The timing is even more suspect: this announcement lands right as Biden reemerges after months of near silence, facing backlash over the Robert Hur tapes and new revelations from Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s book, "Original Sin." And it's not just Biden. Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver has been charged with two counts of assault after a chaotic scene at Delaney Hall, an ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey. The video is crystal clear—but she’s denying all allegations. Once again, we’re told not to trust what we can plainly see and hear. Whether it’s Biden’s health or political stunts at detention facilities, one theme is consistent: the media and the political elite think they can rewrite reality in real time. But the American people aren’t blind. And we’re done pretending not to see what’s right in front of us.…
In this week’s episode of The Elliot Omanson Show , we break down the GOP’s newly proposed “One Big, Beautiful Bill” — and challenge the media’s narrative around it. Our focus is on the controversial Medicaid changes and spending cuts, with a take you won’t hear on most mainstream media. We also unpack President Trump’s latest executive order aimed at lowering prescription drug prices through a “most-favored-nation” pricing model — a move that aligns U.S. costs with what other developed countries pay. Ironically, it's a policy many Democrats once supported… until Trump signed it. Lastly, we cover the breakthrough U.S.–China trade talks in Geneva, where both countries agreed to drop tariffs by a staggering 115%. U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods drop to 30%, while China slashes its tariffs to just 10%. Markets surged on the news, with the Nasdaq and S&P 500 posting strong gains. With trade momentum building, jobs strong, and inflation cooling — we think the American economy is poised to thrive.…
The Trump administration has unveiled a bold new policy: offering $1,000 to illegal immigrants who voluntarily self-deport through the CBP Home app. Officials estimate this could cut deportation costs by as much as 70%. In international news, Mark Carney has officially taken office as Prime Minister of Canada after his recent election victory. His first major move? A visit to Washington, D.C. On Tuesday, Carney and President Trump held a joint press conference at the White House. While Trump doubled down on tariffs and even floated the idea of Canada becoming the 51st U.S. state, Carney quickly shut that down, stating, “Canada will never be for sale.” Finally, we look at China’s economic struggles under the weight of U.S. tariffs. With a 145% tariff still in place, President Trump has hinted at possible trade negotiations with China this weekend — and even suggested that some tariffs might be reduced.…
This week’s episode covers a little of everything. We start with Shedeur Sanders’ surprising draft slide and about who's at fault for the prank call. Then we dig into the controversy surrounding two judges arrested in separate cases — Hannah Dugan and Joel Cano — and the broader implications. We also break down Trump’s proposal to eliminate federal income taxes for those earning under $200K, the results of Canada’s federal election, and the ongoing failures within Chicago Public Schools.…
This episode examines how identity politics is fracturing the modern Left from within. Through examples like Gavin Newsom’s frustrations with Democratic leadership, the growing conflict between activist groups, and the broader lack of unity, it highlights why the Left’s competing agendas are leading to inevitable collapse. Identity politics, division, and short-term thinking are driving instability — and the cracks are only getting wider.…
Our goal for the OWLFI Podcast is to share our perspective on the world. The modern era of media is more powerful than ever. For years, legacy media dominated the political landscape, leaning heavily left. Social media has exploded over the past decade, giving everyday people a stronger voice to share their opinions. Yet, many platforms have favored left-leaning content, often sidelining other viewpoints. The tides are turning. Social media is shifting toward a greater focus on free speech, and we feel a duty to put our views out into the vast expanse of the internet. We’re ordinary Americans, and we know many of you feel unheard. Our podcast is for those who resonate with our perspective and want a voice that reflects their values. In today’s video, we dive into our outlook for the stock market for the remainder of 2025. Liberal media has pushed a false narrative about Trump’s economic plans and tariffs, claiming he’s caving. We disagree. Everything unfolding aligns with what most on the right expected. Negotiations are in progress, and we see a robust economy and stock market ahead. With potential rate cuts on the horizon, we believe the stock market is poised to boom. We also tackle the ongoing dispute between Harvard and the Trump administration, exploring why academia, as a whole, leans so far left. Join us as we unpack these issues and offer our take on where things are headed.…

Today, we’re tackling Disney’s latest release, Snow White. This remake seemed cursed from the start, with lead star Rachel Zegler stirring controversy over her odd critiques of the 1937 classic and her polarizing political takes. Nathaniel caught it on premiere night—and the theater was a ghost town. What went wrong? Share this podcast to show support!…
