This Sunday, pastor Michael will conclude our series “Whole” with a sermon titled “Holistic Transformation". As we conclude our series entitled “Whole,” we are going to discuss how our “formation” is most importantly “transformation” . . . deep-rooted change, not only in our personal lives but more importantly in our community as a whole. It is good to ask “What kind of church do we want to be?” And especially during a time of high anxiety in our culture at large we must ask “How might we be like Jesus when we are scared, frustrated, hurt, or confused?” We’ll even provide a couple of object lessons that I guarantee you’ll remember. Sundays at 10 am at LATC. We live stream our worship services via Zoom, Facebook Live, and YouTube Live.…
This Sunday, pastor Michael will continue our series “Whole” with a sermon titled “Physical Formation". God has provided us with bodies that are amazing when we know how to pay attention to them. Understanding our “Physical Formation” is meant to help us see how our bodies are truly “the temple of the Holy Spirit” and our own personalized power packs that don’t do a very good job cooperating with us if we don’t respect them. In this message, we will discuss many practical ways we can learn about our bodies in new ways so they will be available to us as we live in the kingdom of God.…
This Sunday, Darlene will continue our series “Whole” with a sermon titled “A Spiritual Director's Perspective on Holistic Formation." The holistic formation of our lives is so important; it is helpful to know how others might support us in our growth journey. One of the best ways to do this is with Spiritual Direction. A “spiritual director” is merely a person who helps you to see how God might be at work in your life. They are listeners who reflect back to you what they see and hear about God’s presence. Another way to understand this is the spiritual practice of “listening.” If you want to see how Jesus walks with you in all areas of your life, utilizing spiritual direction is one of the best ways to pay attention to Jesus. Sundays at 10 am at LATC. We live stream our worship services via Zoom, Facebook Live, and YouTube Live.…
This Sunday, pastor Michael will continue our series “Whole” with a sermon titled “Mental Formation". What if having God on your mind could solve 99% of your problems? What if there truly was a way to replace our “toxic thinking” with “healthy thinking?” While we tend to think of our “brain” as the same thing as our “mind,” they are really something totally different. This Sunday, we will explore Mental Formation, which is the practice that addresses these important subjects.…
Our lead pastor nominee, Phyllis Myung, will join us again on Sunday. She will preach from Matthew 14 and share her insights into Jesus feeding the 5,000 and how God's abundance moves us to be good neighbors.
