LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, March 30th; teaching by Stan Rodda. Matthew 5:3-10, Matthew 5:43-48, Matthew 6:24-34, Matthew 6:10, There is no greater transformative message or upside-down challenge that can change everything you think you know message than the Sermon on the Mount. As we have tracked through The Story, God’s creation, His people, His nation, His Tabernacle and Temple, His relationship with humanity, we have finally arrived at the point in the storywhere heaven meets earth in the man, Jesus, Immanuel, God with us. And He does anything but keep the same old, same old. He challenges the status quo. Turned everything upside down. Found a third way to answer when tested. He spoke with authority. He ate with sinners and prostitutes. He enjoyed the favor of the common person. And in arguably the most brilliant teaching ever, Jesus masterfully crafts a message that will disrupt, not only the Jewish way of thinking. but the course of humanity. The sermon on the mount proves one thing for sure that God’s Pursuit Calls Us to Be an Upside-Down People. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #themostinterstingmanintheworld #bible #jesus #jesusministry #emmanuel #immanuel #godwithus #sermononthemount Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, March 23rd; teaching by Kevin Hartman. Mark 1:14-15, Mark 2:1-12, Mark 2:17, Luke 4:16-19, John 1:35-42 So many incredible moments mark the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. From His baptism and time of preparation in the wilderness, to calling some of His first disciples. But perhaps the thing that truly sets it apart is the people He goes after first. Jesus Himself from Galilee, a back woods town like Nazareth, can anything good come from there anyway? Jesus Himself is overlooked and despised. And it is the marginalized and outcasts that Jesus goes to. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #themostinterstingmanintheworld #bible #jesus #jesusministry #emmanuel #immanuel #godwithus Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, March 16th; teaching by Max Magee. John 1:6-8, Isaiah 40: 3, Luke 1:30-35, 2Samuel 7:12-13, Matthew 1:19-24, Isaiah 7:14, Luke 2:4-7, Isaiah 9:6-7, Micah 5:2, Luke 2:13, Matthew 1:23, John 14:25-26 There have been 400 of years silence since the Jewish people have heard from God. No encounters. No prophetic messages. They began to wonder what they had done. Where was God? Then, a series of prophecies began to be fulfilled. There were angelic encounters. Miracle pregnancies, a virgin birth, a messiah is born. And God was clearly on the move again. Not only on the move, but was living among his people through Immanuel, God With Us, Jesus. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #themostinterstingmanintheworld #bible #jesus #jesusisborn #prophecy #emmanuel #immanuel #godwithus Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

TIME Magazine boasts a “person of the year” on the cover of their magazine annually. It’s more than just an image of a person who has done some good deed. Rather, it’s someone of historic significance who will be remembered for a very long time. When they put out their list of 100 most historically significant figures, the question became, “Who is the most significant person in history?” From the list of 100, names are instantly recognizable to us. Joan of Arc, Michelangelo, Socrates, Elvis Presley, Charlemagne, Thomas Edison, Aristotle and Abraham Lincoln. But who ranks #1? Who is seen as the most significant person in history? One name dawns the top spot. And His name is Jesus. This is the story of the most interesting man in the world. From His birth, an incredible fulfillment of prophecies hundreds to thousands of years old. His ministry which focused on the marginalized and outcast in society. Life changing miracles. Heart transforming compassion. Teachings and parables that challenged the heart and mind. Self-sacrifice that melted the hardest of hearts. This is the story of God’s pinnacle moment in all human history as God in human form, dies on a cross and rises from the dead. It is more than a story; it is the apex of all of human history. And there’s nothing like the story of Jesus. He is the most interesting man in the world. In this series, we will cover Jesus’ birth, Jesus’ ministry, miracles, identity, Jesus’ death and resurrection. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #themostinterestingmanalive #readingscripture #bible #jesus #sonofgod #resurrection #easter #goodfriday The Story resources https://www.lscckc.org/thestory or mobile through the LS Community Church Center app (download instructions www.lscckc.org/app ) The Story book https://www.amazon.com/NIV-Story-Hardcover-Comfort-Print/dp/0310458196/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?crid=316T7K2HLXKEM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.cI1qrXqLBn6xtpq8f-V6vhRLPSTMS9x07BU8AHzy4BzV0zLyeYnpNtL7jZ7Z9eR1T03-lt7eRxkoUpPvIWaG9Gc3v5lTI02MWuTZcxORfcExA6pHJ_ZzGo4FmovdL4LrglET1p3d201zk4VlgFMVOEu7AJvZwivFMwB2uvxTVLTG0E3Z7tmeb7TGYlYnCjFJ1e8uHXKesPKaqTAHuP5_yy_8Prvi7Oyqk7wzpsPh9z8.CMRQyWrzGpgGx33WUvrvD0N8GSW5Zpy6NdnDEZIEqf4&dib_tag=se&keywords=The+Story&qid=1726165654&sprefix=the+story%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-3-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1 Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org…

LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, March 9th; teaching by Stan Rodda. Ezra 7:11-20, Ezra 9:1, Nehemiah 1:2-4, Nehemiah 4:1-3, Nehemiah 4:7, 8, Nehemiah 6:15, 16, Nehemiah 8:1-3, 9-10, 18 This message closes out the Old Testament in our overarching Bible narrative. Over the previous two messages we learned to stay faithful when God is loud and clear and to stay faithful when God is silent. In this message, we will learn about staying faithful even when things get difficult. When it comes to Jews who were in exile and then finally given the green light to go home we are introduced primarily to three guys Zerubbabel, Ezra, and Nehemiah. As we focus on the missions of Ezra and Nehemiah we’ll look at the challenges they face along the way as we learn to stay faithful even when things get difficult. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #backtothefuture #bible #ezra #nehemiah Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, March 2nd; teaching by Stan Rodda. Esther 2:16-18, Esther 3:7, Esther 4:13-14, Esther 4:15-17, Esther 5:4, 6-8, Esther 7:3, 4, Esther 7:9, 10, Esther 8:10, 11, Esther 9:11-12, 18, In the book of Esther, God is not mentioned once. And yet, His fingerprints are all over it. Many of us experience this in our own lives today. We do our best to follow Jesus but sometimes it feels as if God is silent, and we aren’t sure what we are supposed to do next. While some Jews have returned to Jerusalem, some have chosen to stay in Persia. Some of those people who have stayed are Mordecai and Esther. The story of Esther answers questions like: Can God still work in a foreign kingdom? Does He still care for His people? Is He going to come through? Where is he? What do we do when God is silent? The answer is simple. Stay faithful even when God is silent. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #backtothefuture #bible #esther #mordecai Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

Persia has released captives. Ezra is a prophet among those who go back home. He leads out in restoring the Temple. Throughout much of what we read in Ezra, we repeatedly heard, “Then the Lord said, Then the Lord said, Then the Lord said, "From captivity and God’s silence to a very loud and clear voice from God. Time travel isn’t possible, but it sure was fun to think about in the “Back to the Future” movies. Going back in time, almost ruining a bunch of things and realizing, you must get back to where you belong. You must get back to the future. Israel finds itself in a similar place. For so long they have looked forward to a future hope. A promise they knew, believed and trusted that God was bringing them to. But they find themselves in captivity to Assyria, Babylon and Persia. They have lost their identity in God. And now they are in a place they shouldn’t be. God raises up men and women to continue to show His faithfulness. He raises up Ezra to boldly lead out in the temple rebuild. He raises up Nehemiah who will help to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem. He will raise up Esther at just the right time to save the Jewish peopleremaining in Persia from extinction. And to get to where God has promised they would go, they realize they must go back to where they were. To get to the future promised to them but must go back to eventually have that preferred future. And the truth they discover along the way is a truth we must constantly go back to as well, faithfulness is the key. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #BacktotheFuture #readingscripture #Bible The Story resources https://www.lscckc.org/thestory or mobile through the LS Community Church Center app (download instructions www.lscckc.org/app ) The Story book https://www.amazon.com/NIV-Story-Hardcover-Comfort-Print/dp/0310458196/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?crid=316T7K2HLXKEM&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.cI1qrXqLBn6xtpq8f-V6vhRLPSTMS9x07BU8AHzy4BzV0zLyeYnpNtL7jZ7Z9eR1T03-lt7eRxkoUpPvIWaG9Gc3v5lTI02MWuTZcxORfcExA6pHJ_ZzGo4FmovdL4LrglET1p3d201zk4VlgFMVOEu7AJvZwivFMwB2uvxTVLTG0E3Z7tmeb7TGYlYnCjFJ1e8uHXKesPKaqTAHuP5_yy_8Prvi7Oyqk7wzpsPh9z8.CMRQyWrzGpgGx33WUvrvD0N8GSW5Zpy6NdnDEZIEqf4&dib_tag=se&keywords=The+Story&qid=1726165654&sprefix=the+story%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-3-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1 Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

But he is faithful to God while in captivity, and God is faithful to Daniel. He rises through the ranks. He ends up in a position of power and influence. Persia eventually overthrows Babylon and Persia allows Jewish captives to go back home. It’s a time when Israel rediscovers that their identity is not in the temple or the land. LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, February 9th; teaching by Stan Rodda. 2 Kings 21:6-7, 2 Kings 21:13b, Ezekial 1:1; 2:3, Ezekiel 7:5-8, Jeremiah 2:4, 11-12, 2 Kings 25:1, 2, Jeremiah 21:4, 5, Lamentations 1:1-3, Lamentations 3:21, 22 We have talked about some difficult periods of time in the history of Israel. Just when everything seemed to be on track–the Temple had been completed, they were coming off King David’s and King Solomon's reign – these were the glory days for Israel, prosperity, wealth, security and most importantly, God’s presence with them. But they quickly forgot their identity in God. They focused too much on the land. Too much on being like the people around them. They went backward to pagan gods and idol worship. And this led to a myriad of other problems within the nation of Israel. We have seen that when you shift away from your God given identity it leads to division. Israel is divided among political and territorial lines, going from a united nation to two kingdoms (north and south). God pursues His people trying to remind them of their identity in Him. But they don’tlisten. Their refusal to align with God is the beginning of the end for Israel. The north collapsed had already collapsed under a severe Assyrian empire. But God for the moment has spared the southern Kingdom (Judah) Sadly, that doesn’t last much longer. About 136 years after the south was saved. It will also meet its end and we will discover the reality that living a false identity leads to complete collapse. And even though Israel is about to collapse, God continues to pursue. God calls Ezekiel & Jeremiah into action to try and turn Judah around before it’s too late. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #losingmyreligion #bible #prophets #Ezekiel #Jeremiah Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, February 2nd; teaching by Stan Rodda. 1 Kings 17:7-8, 2 Kings 17:18, 23, 2 Kings 19:9-12, 2 Kings 19:14-19, 2 Kings 19:20, 21, 2 Kings 19:22-23, 27-28, 32-34, 2 Kings 19:35, 36 As the northern kingdom collapses and the southern kingdom is threatened, we discover a king in the south who pursues God in an incredible way. And God will save the south at least for the moment. But this story will come with some warnings from the prophet Isaiah. And in the big picture we learn God Pursues His Creation Even When All Seems Lost. While the lessons and prophecies we see are specific to Judah in this moment in history, there are still some lessons for us for what to do when everything seems lost and life seems to befalling apart. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #losingmyreligion #bible #prophets #Isaiah Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, January 26th; teaching by Stan Rodda. 1 Kings 18:17-46, 1 Kings 18:17-19, 1 Kings 18:21, 1 Kings 18:22-24, Jeremiah 10:5, 1 Kings 18:36-37, 1 Kings 18:39 When it comes to following Jesus, when it comes to following God, the path is not always easy. Along the way there are shiny things that pop up that distract us from the path. Like a shiny lure and bait snagging a fish out of the water. So too are things in this world. We are constantly having to choose: Who is God in my life? Is it me? My time? My money? My career? Or is God truly God in my life? The choice is a constant one which is why Jesus tells us to take up our cross daily New gods, idols are always tugging at us and we must decide in each moment Who is truly God? And which direction will I go? If you have ever felt this way. Like you were stuck between two opinions. Stuck between two gods. Then this is the message for you. God begins raising up prophets who confront bad kings in both Israel and Judah. These prophets are bold men of God who continually point Israel back to who they are supposed to be. They confront false prophets from foreign nations. They confront sin within the people. They confront the kings who lead the people away from God’s identity for them. Elijah and Elisha being two of the most prominent prophets in this season of Israel’s history. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #losingmyreligion #bible #prophets #elijah #elisha Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

LS Community Church live Sunday gathering, January 19th; teaching by Corbett Cutts. 1 Samuel 8:11-18, 1 Kings 12:13, 1 Kings 12:16, 1 Kings 12:5-6, 1 Kings 12: 26-27, 1 Kings 12:28, For so long God had promised Israel land as an inheritance. He even promised His very presence in the ark of the covenant and the temple. But Israel misses the big picture. For too long they put their identity in their land and not in the reality that God was present with them. This shift from their identity leads to the collapse of Israel. They split into two kingdoms, the Northern (Israel) who would follow Jeroboam and the Southern (Judah) who would follow Rehoboam. The South held a major advantage in the power struggle between the two kingdoms – the Temple was in Jerusalem which was in Judah and that presents a significant problem for Jeroboam because it meant that the Israelites in the North had no place to worship God. Jeroboam is faced with a major decision: • Does he remain faithful to the covenant with Yahweh and assume the risk of allowing the Israelites to travel to Judah to worship? • Or does he take matters into his own hands? #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #losingmyreligion #bible #kingJeroboam #king Rehoboam #kings #judah #israel Socials Learn more information about Lee’s Summit Community Church www.lscckc.org Connect with us on social media Facebook: /lscckc Instagram: /lsccchurch Access more message content: YouTube: /@lscckc…

LS Community Church pastors Stan Rodda, Kevin Hartman, and Corbett Cutts sit down together to talk through our upcoming series - The Story: Loosing My Religion. If you were to shine a spotlight on Israel, you might hear them singing, “That’s us in the corner. That’s us in the spotlight, losing our religion.” After centuries of pursuing an earthly king, Israel completely forgets their identity. God had built them through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God has rescued them from Egypt and foreign nations. He has brought them into the promised land. And they still want to be like everyone around them. God gave them their kings and it didn’t go the way they hoped. And now they begin to completely lose their identity to foreign nations and pagan gods. They intermarry, they stop following Torah and sacrificing as they should. They abandon Yahweh for the identity of false gods and nations. They sacrifice to false gods. They lose their religion, their identity. Empire after empire rise and eventually swallow up the directionless nation of Israel. With no anchor in their identity as God’s people, they are eventually defeated and brought into captivity in foreign nations. They have completely forgotten who and whose they are. Yet during an incredibly dark chapter, God continues to pursue. He raises up prophets despite Israel’s rebellion to call them back to Himself. These prophets rise in both the Northern and Southern kingdoms. They also appear in captivity. No matter how far God’s people have strayed, He continues His relentless pursuit of His creation. #lscommunitychurch #leessummitcommunitychurch #message #Thestory #readingscripture #Bible The Story resources https://www.lscckc.org/thestory or mobile through the LS Community Church Center app (download instructions www.lscckc.org/app ) Community Group information https://www.lscckc.org/groups or mobile through the LS Community Church Center app (download instructions www.lscckc.org/app )…
