Wrapping up this particular flavor of iteration curation, we added the YouTube link for the final Callin archive Pumpkin Heads discussion (posted in this feed on 10/20/24) as a source in NotebookLM. The generated conversation was again impressive while still exhibiting obvious room for growth and enhancement. Key points: - Female host started this one - The creator (singular) - “Neighborhood barbecue” (not B-B-Q this time) - First infected “starts flirting with Dad’s best friend…”? - WASP knife angle explained correctly this time! - Both hosts eventually say “WASP P knife” - Smart twin actually dead? I think we talked about that in episode 3… - “It deserves to be out there” “It’s a story that needs to be told” “Maybe someone out there is already working on it” - “In the meantime keep those lights on and those WASP knives handy” Poetry: The Notebook evolves Quicker in some areas And still room to grow Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
Following from the last episode, we added the YouTube link for episode 2 of the Callin archive Pumpkin Heads discussion (posted in this feed on 10/13/24) as a source in NotebookLM. And then, you guessed, it, we regenerated the "conversation" and again, the iterative method bears fruit. Key points: - Almost get a sense that the hosts are getting more comfortable with the material, more jokes and smoother back and forth - Less “your notes” stuff - “The writers” instead… - “This one’s a doozy” - Groundhog Day homage? Ha ha ha - “I can already tell this is gonna be messing with my dreams tonight” - “We’re only 9 meals away from anarchy” - “WASP” pronounced correctly, though the intent was lost on the hosts - “Keep those brains safe out there” Poetry: NotebookLM's aid To craft a tale of terror Pumpkin Heads arise Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
In this second round of using Google's AI tool, NotebookLM, to facilitate development of the Pumpkin Heads story, we added a new source: the YouTube link for episode 1 of the Callin archive Pumpkin Heads discussion (posted in this feed on 10/6/24). Then we regenerated the "conversation" and while you can judge for yourself, we definitely could tell an improvement just from that additional source. Key points: - Mostly similar but some new stuff, focus on parts not mentioned in the first iteration - “Your notes, your concept, your…” - This was interesting… the references from both hosts to “your” instead of “the creators” - “Parasitic Alien Invasion - those are three of my favorite things” - “Gruesome biological booby trap” - Re: the POV concept: “Like a jigsaw puzzle but with perspectives instead of pieces” - Reference to The Trolly Problem in regard to the smart twin’s choice - “Sometimes the scariest monsters are the ones we create ourselves” Poetry: Next NotebookLM Wow this tech is pretty nuts Good stuff in round 2 Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
Continuing with the Pumpkin Heads theme, we're checking out the Google AI tool NotebookLM to see what it has to offer. Specifically, you can use it to generate a short "conversation" between two AI hosts and it's pretty remarkable, team. For this iteration we loaded NotebookLM with the written sources of the Pumpkin Heads story. We discuss some high level points and then have included the AI conversation for you listening pleasure. Key points: - “The creators” - “B-B-Q” - “WASP P” - The scene where the mom kills her son “When I read that it really stuck with me” - “Nightmare fuel” - A few “yeahs” that sound like a 3rd person whose only contribution is “yeah” - “Sometimes the scariest monsters are closer than you think” Poetry: Checking out AI What is all the fuss about With NotebookLM Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…

As a logical bookend to last week's episode on fear, this time we're talking about laughter! We share personal stories and anecdotes highlighting the vast spectrum of the idea of humor and laughter. I could not not laugh "The human race has only one really effective weapon, and that is laughter." - Mark Twain Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
In this episode we share some personal stories related to fear, movie and biblical references of fear (don't worry, we definitely included Dune), and our general thoughts about the impact and implications of fear itself. Poetry and quotes: Is fear ever fair? Is it something we can use? Or does it use us? Litany against Fear (from Dune): "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain." “In the end I am nothing, but right now I am everything” - Tucker “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads up hate. Hate leads to suffering.” - Yoda Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
Kicking off our series on famous quotes! We randomly pick quotes from "2548 Best Things Anybody Ever Said" as well as the 17th and 19th editions of "Bartlett's Familiar Quotations", and then add our own insights and contemplations to the meanings and metaphors of said quotes. Poetry and quotes: Here is a haiku About Bartlett's book of quotes They are familiar “I hate quotations. Tell me what you know.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
We're wrapping up the politics topic with some thoughts on the justice system, including an idea for using a military type/merit-based/promotion style framework. Why Democracy Is Mathematically Impossible (Veritasium) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf7ws2DF-zk Poetry and quotes: Because after all Justice matters to us all Otherwise, we fall “Democracy is the worst form of government. Except for all the other forms that have been tried.” - Winston Churchill “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” - Martin Luther King, Jr. Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
This time we're focusing on the liberty aspect of politics and discuss an option for crowdsourcing political ideas and solutions through a Reddit-style platform. Poetry and quotes: Wow politics, man Sometimes the ride is: No Thanks Sometimes, should stay on "Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth." - George Washington Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
We're diving in to the topic of politics! Our intent however is not to get bogged down with complaints over the current climate but instead to ponder the possibilities of new ways of governance. Poetry and quotes: The intersection Between "pol" and "phil" is where Everyone should be "Some people are philosophers and some are politicians. Philosophers want to reach truth/understanding. Politicians want to win. Helped me rethink some relationships, how hard I was working to reach the other person and find understanding with them when they just wanted to win." - Tucker "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." - Voltaire (or his biographer, Evelyn Beatrice Hall) Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
We begin a series of conversations about movies that represent the duality of mind metaphor. This time it's Fight Club, The Abyss, and The Cable Guy. Poetry and quotes: What do The Abyss The Cable Guy, and Fight Club All have in common? "It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything" - Tyler Durden Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
Continuing our sleep conversations we delve in to the domain of dreams. Come with us, won't you? Poetry and quotes: You know at some point The dreaming just has to start Happening, my man Even in nightmares There is something to learn from After all, they're us “We all know that Art is not truth. Art is a lie that makes us realize truth at least the truth that is given us to understand. The artist must know the manner whereby to convince others of the truthfulness of his lies.” - Pablo Picasso “We all know that dreams are not truth. We wrap up our efforts to poetize our thoughts on LGBTQ+ ideas! The main focus: What is the age of being a minor and having a parent or guardian legally/morally in charge of and responsible for deciding on everything vs the age of majority where the person becomes legally/morally in charge of their own life and decisions that impact their life? Spoiler alert: we don't settle on a single age but we're confident that having the conversations is key so please let us know your thoughts! Haiku (demonstrating singular use of "they" for anyone hung up on "they" being exclusively plural): When someone's heart breaks They may become self aware Or self destructive Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
The poetiziation continues! Still on the topic of LGBTQ+, we talk about sports and trans athletes, spring boarding from this interview between Neil deGrasse Tyson and Ben Shapiro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w89etN8QqNQ&t=14s Haiku: It is more likely For a positive outcome When we include all Contact us: sendingpoets@gmail.com…
