Carl started his musical career as a vibraphonist in New York playing with Aretha Franklin, Phyllis Diller and many more. Eventually settling in LA he became an in demand session player for TV and film. Playing on such classic shows as Mork and Mindy, Bosom Buddies, Laverne and Shirley, etc and performing with Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams on a number of films. In his 50's, after a long career in music, Carl made the decision to pivot into a new career as a high school counselor. After doing that for a number of years in LA he eventually retired from education and made his way to the Coachella Valley settling in the Sun City Shadow Hills community in North Indio. These days Carl is still active as a composer and performer, teaching music at the College of the Desert, and has recently begun developing his craft as a storyteller and writer.
