This week's guest is Nicole Jenkins, co-founder of Ladies and the Trap, and member of Unega Mountain Dog Rescue. Nicole was one of the first confirmed guests when Misty decided to do a series on Dreamers. "There's a privilege in following a dream." ~ Emily Brandt My guest today is indie folk-pop artist Ivy Eld, from Ashville North Carolina. Ivy's music dances in the land of paradox. Her voice is simultaneously angelic and rawly human. Ivy longs for her music to be an oasis of healing and beauty–a call to deeper respect and compassion for ourselves and for humanity. She considers her music to be another facet of how she shows up in the world in authentic and passionate service–as a singer-songwriter, a therapist, a mom, a partner, an advocate, a friend, a human. She hopes her thoughtful, earthy, poetic songs will inspire others to look inside–light, shadows, and all–and come home to their deeply worthy selves. Talking with Ivy is as enlightening as it is grounding. Her support of Indigenous artists and the authentic way in which she walks the both/and path are just the tip of the many reasons why Ivy is an artist and woman to support and follow... In this week's team chat Chantal, Misty, and Nikki are tackling such topics as bad habits, vulnerability, store returns, bad soup recipes, and the unhealthy of excess (especially during the holidays.) Chantal also talks about her hiatus from social media and the effect this has been having on her life. It may sound like we're all over the place, but really it all comes together. We even touch on introverts, too much peopling, and the kind of parties we thrive at. Grab your favorite cup of comfort and come hang out with the team–it's girlfriend hour! #girltalk #becomingminimalist #excess #torrid #goodsoup #Christmas #introverts #habits #podcastsforwomen --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rainydaycollective/support…
In this week's Collective team chat Maggie, Misty, and Veronica dissect a chart-topping Doris Day track from 1952 entitled "A Guy is a Guy". How do the lyrics of this track reflect in today's society? How did it reflect in the lives of 50's women? Furthermore, in what small ways do women still not have equality? It is this sort of deep conversation which takes the women down the path of asking themselves the important, probing question: Team Straw, or Team no Straw? Grab a cup of your favorite seasonal tea and settle in for a little girl time filled with laughter, some feminist ranting, and a whole lot of girl time... #feminism #patriarchy #womensupportingwomen #songlyricsexamined #boyswillbeboys #assault #sexualassault --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rainydaycollective/support…

Maggie, Misty, and Veronica are here this week, hanging out in this safe space to admit we're tired. Are you tired? the mid-trauma, emotional fatigue happening to the majority of us is REAL, and our habits are often questioning, shaming, or not trusting these feelings. Sometimes it takes a frank chat with others to realize there's nothing wrong with you and you are doing ok. Sometimes when we hang out, crazy stuff may come out of someone's mouth. It's fine. We're fine. I'm fine... This week Chantal, Misty, and Nikki are hanging out. It's like the fun friend hour when everyone is chillin' and we just talk about whatever comes to mind. In the intense and overwhelming negativity out there right now, these times are nice. This week, it was Nikki who kicked off the conversation chatting about her "Unpopular opinion", which it turned out wasn't that unpopular. This took us into discussions of wardrobe malfunctions and then, as smoothly as a conversation could flow, Chantal asked a deep question which took Misty down the trail of MURDER. Not murdering someone, just talking about murder. Fun times... (to be clear, no one murdered anyone or has plans to murder anyone. We do not advocate for the unaliving of anyone.) But also, we would love for you to weigh in on where you fall all things Pumpkin Spice and murder... (Disclaimer, this is NOT a true-crime podcast, though it is titled like a Cozy Autumn Mystery) #autumn #pumpkinspice #girltalk #murder #unpopularopinions #dating #wardrobemalfuntion #goldstar --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/rainydaycollective/support…
