Derek, a seasoned performer and charismatic persona offstage as he is onstage is one of the best vocalists I’ve heard in a while. His range and energy is infectious and I connected almost immediately with this Cali rocker, who hails from shredding guitar and busking on the Santa Monica pier to tearing it up with Steve Vai and even jam buddies with Stephen Perkins(Janes Addiction).
