“We don't want Idaho to have a bad reputation. This is our home state. We love our home state. It's beautiful. We pride ourselves on our nature. We pride ourselves on our wildlife. And instead, we are continuing to do things that are… that are sickening.” - Ella Driever In 1995, wolves were reintroduced to central Idaho, and in 2003 a Boise High school called Timberline officially adopted a local wolf pack. Throughout the 2000, students went on wolf tracking trips and in their wolf packs range. But in 2021, Idaho's legislature passed Senate Bill 1211, 1211 allows Idaho hunters to obtain an unlimited number of wolf tags, and it also allows Idaho's Department of Fish and Game to use taxpayer dollars to pay private contractors to kill wolves. That means bounties on wolves, including on public lands. And in 2021, the Idaho Fish and Game Commission expanded the wolf hunting season and hunting and trapping methods. So it's not too surprising to learn that also in 2021, the Timberline pack disappeared. The students, the ones that cared about wolves, at least, were devastated. Last summer I went to D.C. with some of the Species Unite team for a wolf rally on Capitol Hill. While I was there, two young women gave a talk about what happened at Timberline in 2021. Their names are Ella Driver and Sneha Sharma. They both graduated from Timberline High School and were there when their wolf pack disappeared. Please, listen and share.…
Arts and entertainment reviews from Delorenze, a post-cliche-revolution city that hasn't interacted with the outside world since the days of old Hollywood glamour. Our host is Zelda, an arts critic with an affinity for shoulder pads, grudges, and reviewing shows after they close. It turns out that there’s over 50 years of entertainment Delorenze hasn’t had access to before… Which means that Zelda has a lot of work to do. Not to mention that whole city reestablishing itself thing. The Zelda Roy Show is written and produced by Rosemary Bucher and Claire Kinton. Narrated by Claire, music by Rosemary.

Zelda discusses her love of change, realizes that Raphael knows how to use a watch, and successfully tells off a telemarketer. -- Featuring: Justin Roth as Raphael
Zelda ponders the inevitability of death, reinvents the Magic 8 Ball, and utilizes modern technology to try and solve an art history mystery (but whatever, okay?).
Zelda brings back an old favorite segment, watches other people play old video games on the Internet, and sends Raphael for frozen yogurt (which he never actually brings her, sigh).
REBROADCAST. Live from the Eclipse Diner and Occasional Ballroom, Zelda covers the special gala fundraiser for Marvin Whitley's new video store and maybe uncovers an affair or two (but who's asking?). LISTENER ADVISORY NOTE: This archival episode of The Zelda Roy Show references pre-Other Place events, including the start of the violent revolution that opened Delorenze to the outside world. Listener discretion is advised. -- (Guest voices: Tony Bender as Horace Applebottom, and Rachel Smith as June Lennox-Mercator.)…
Zelda shares her crazy plans for the new exhibit opening at the Delorenze Museum of Modern Art, muses about strong female characters in American theatre, and calls out a repeat listener, the mysterious ChristopherWalken (not the real one... she thinks).
Zelda goes over how to deal with telemarketers, generates ideas for new game shows, and attempts to figure out the difference between a bar hop and a bar crawl (but who cares).
