However whilst most Africans are without traditional banking services as we know it 97% have mobile phones. This creates a great opportunity for digital banking services to fill in the gaps. The Ugandan youth unemployment rate sits at 13.3%. According to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics over 75% of young people are engaged in vulnerable work or are underemployed meaning low earnings, low productivity, and working within difficult conditions.
