Then the judge tells you, this restraining order will protect you and your family from a confrontation with this person, but you cannot restrict them from carrying a gun. In nearly every race in the 2022 midterm elections, candidates have declared their position on gun safety or gun rights hoping to attract the votes that will win them the office they seek. 88 Percent of Americans agree we need safer gun laws, but the NRA and the gun lobby have succeeded in at least eleven states passing “Second Amendment Sanctuary” laws that claim the state is not subject to Federal gun regulation. Meanwhile the gun safety groups from coast to coast have been activating to “get out the vote” like never before. These groups see voter participation and the election of progressive candidates as key to the regulations and policies that will bring down the relentless rise of gun deaths and injuries in America.
