A week after complaining about the lack of big offseason moves on the last Shoeless Goat Podcast, Nick and Pat's prayers have been answered. The Cubs and White Sox have both made big moves, with the North Siders signing Dansby Swanson and the South Siders getting Andrew Benintendi. For the Sox, Pat emphasizes separating who Benintendi is as a player and how he'll help the team from the fact that his $75M deal is the biggest in team history STILL. Nick gives you all the reasons to be ecstatic as a Cubs fan in Swanson, and why his deal sets them up for a potential breakout season of playoff contention in 2023. With the moves in mind, the guys give their thoughts on both teams' current lineups, and who else they may target this offseason.…

Welcome to the first Shoeless Goat Podcast episode of the offseason! Nick and Pat are back to catch you up on everything Chicago baseball since the Winter Meetings wrapped up last week. After a quiet start to the offseason for the White Sox, Pat openly questions what the plans in, mourns the loss of Jose Abreu in Chicago, and much more in a rant filled segment. While the Cubs have had a slightly happier offseason, Nick gears up for a disappointing lack of spending by the Ricketts family as the shortstop market is falling off the board. The guys also give their picks for best possible signings the teams could make still and yearn for a crazy, money be damned owner to take control of a Chicago team.…

We are back with the newest Shoeless Goat Podcast, and we have quite the episode on tap! On the South Side, Pat gears up for a sweep or (probably) go home series against Cleveland. After a rough up and down season, do the White Sox have it in them to make the last push to October? Enjoy a free helping of live reactions while the guys recorded. In brighter news on the North Side, Nick recounts the experience of a lifetime where he was able to join the broadcast on Marquee and call an inning. Nick takes us throw the experience, including how he was able to pull off the signature "Yadi Molina is not a hall of famer" on TV. Get caught up here with our latest episode!…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

After a solid week, both the White Sox and the Shoeless Goat Podcast are back! In this Sox-centric episode, Nick and Pat discuss the recent change in fortune for the White Sox, with a 4-2 week bringing them to within 2 games of the division lead. From the winning week, to Dylan Cease's near no hitter, to Miguel Cairo's performance as manager so far, to Tony La Russa's future with the team, the guys cover everything White Sox as the South Siders march along to the end of the season. Can they pull off a division title a week after Pat declared them dead? On the Cubs side of the equation, Nick gets his weekly rant in, this time over the Cubs giving longtime rivals Albert Pujols and Yadi (Not a Hall of Famer) Molina gifts at Wrigley as part of their farewell tour.…

With the season winding down, get up to speed on the latest Shoeless Goat Podcast episode. Nick recaps a couple weeks of Cubs baseball that included some fun wins, powered by new addition Franmil Reyes, who is making his best case to be a Cub in 2023. Things are much more bleak on the South Side, where Pat begins to fume over this lost season after a sweep at the hands of the Diamondbacks. The guys discuss what's gone wrong for the Sox, where blame lies, and whether or not Rick Hahn will keep his job after this debacle of a season. You won't want to miss this one!…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

In this week's Shoeless Goat Podcast, the guys recap an eventful week on both sides of town. For the Cubs, the Field of Dreams Game win was the highlight on the field of a week that ended with a series win in Cincinnati. Off the field, Tom Ricketts made some comments sure to rile up the fanbase, which laid the groundwork for Nick to look ahead to next year's free agent shortstop class. On the South Side, the White Sox went from getting beaten soundly in Kansas City to sweeping Detroit in yet another up and down, frustrating week. Maybe it'll be different this time, with Johnny Cueto pointing out the obvious (to everyone but Tony La Russa) lack of fire seeming to turn this around for the weekend. Going along with Pat's theme of the week, who knows. From Iowa baseball to free agency hopefuls to Nick Madrigal bobbleheads, we've got it all in this week's episode!…

The MLB Trade Deadline is nearly upon us, with the Cubs and White Sox both looking to make moves before the clock runs out. Nick discusses the impending Cubs fire sale, and the disappointment he has over the Cubs being in this position yet again. To help add some positivity, he looks back on some more favorable Cubs deadline deals. Pat has some hope after a meh Sox week, but isn't expecting the team to do much at the deadline. The guys also talk about where the big names will go, the disappointing Sox - A's game from Friday night, and their favorite Chicago deadline deals.…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

The first half of the MLB season is a wrap, and we're here to chalk up where things stand on the Shoeless Goat Podcast. Pat's doom and gloom prediction of a 25% playoff chance last week may have been a bit premature with a big week in the books, while the Cubs were at least able to salvage a win at the end of yet another rough week in a long (pre-deadline) season. With the All Star Game here and a Home Run Derby being the potential tiebreaker, the guys turn back the clock a bit - if the same rule applied back in 2002, who would Nick and Pat pick? From Barry Bonds to Manny Ramirez to A Rod and more, there's plenty of star power to go around.…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

After a brief hiatus, Nick and Pat are back to break down the latest happenings in Chicago baseball. While the Cubs recently enjoyed a stretch of fun and semi-competitive baseball, the White Sox have continued their slide into mediocrity. With reports of cliques forming and a lost clubhouse, can the Sox get back on track, or will their apathy spread to the fans? From the South Side struggles, to the Cubs' pending deadline decisions with Ian Happ and Willson Contreras, we got you covered right here!…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

After a winless week for the North Siders and another losing week for the South Siders, Nick and Pat regroup to bring you the latest in Chicago baseball. For the Cubs, the week involved four losses to the Orioles and Yankees, with a barrage of homers killing them in New York. With such a down week, Nick looks forward to the chance of a lifetime in the Cubs TV booth. The White Sox were close to a solid week, but between the 1-2 Intentional Walk, injuries, pitching issues, defense, and whatever else, they continued to find ways to not get it done. Despite the struggles, Pat knows that Tony La Russa has virtually no chance of being fired again.…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

This week's Shoeless Goat Podcast has the two teams working through up and down weeks, with the Cubs making their way through a 9 game week compared to 5 for the White Sox. Willson Contreras' heroics (with the bat and his pep talks) have Nick already dreading the likely trade of the best catcher in baseball, with ESPN's broadcast fanning the flames against the fire sale. Pat went through another tough Sox week, with a sweep in Toronto courtesy of awful baserunning, missing players, and more, with a week-salvaging series win in Tampa to cap it off.…

Nick and Pat are back to bring you the latest in a slog of a Chicago baseball season on the newest Shoeless Goat Podcast! The tough season begins to wear on both guys, with Nick growing tired of the Cubs' star-less team, while Pat begins to show frustration with the White Sox .500 mark so far. The fun-less season culminates in a Crosstown Series split that neither team is happy with. Off the field, Dallas Keuchel has been DFA'd, with the guys breaking down the impact of the Keuchel era in Chicago.…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

After a week away, Nick and Pat are back to recap an eventful week in Chicago baseball. After the Cubs went 0 for last week, they were able to rally to take four against San Diego and Arizona behind strong pitching from Kyle Hendricks. The White Sox meanwhile had a rough week, losing 3 of 4 to the Yankees and losing an absolutely wild, heartbreaking extra inning game against the Guardians our guys attended. Between all that drama, Johnny Cueto's White Sox debut, and the declaration of Willson Contreras's MVP campaign by Nick, we've got you covered right here!…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

Welcome to May and the first edition of the 2022 Crosstown Classic! Nick and Pat break down another frustrating week of Chicago baseball, with each team getting 2 wins on the week. With the Sox continuing to struggle despite Tim Anderson's best efforts at the plate, Pat starts to look ahead for when panic time truly begins. On the North Side, Nick struggles with the thought of another potential sell-off, but at least Patrick Wisdom got the Cubs two wins this week. The guys also talk about the Crosstown Classic, making a bet for the first series at Wrigley, and Pat gives Nick the rundown on Marlins Park in Miami.…

Shoeless Goat Podcast

After a week off and a rough week in Chicago baseball, Nick and Pat are back on the mic to talk through the frustrations. While the Cubs' week included a fun 20 run output on the Pirates, there wasn't much else to write home about outside of the snowy Wrigley weather. The White Sox had a disastrous week going 0-6, and Pat tries to keep a level head with over 90% of the season left to play, but does begin to consider the managerial situation in Chicago with Tony La Russa. Get your fix on brutal baseball right here!…
