Our liturgy is a compilation from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, Enriching Our Worship, Volumes I & II, and the Iona Abbey Worship Book. Our readings this morning: Psalm 22, Wisdom 1:16-2:1, 12, 22, 1 Peter 1:10-20, and the Gospel of John 13:36-38. Today is Good Friday. We pray to approach our own suffering as entrance into relationship with Christ, and to fully experience Christ’s death as victory over the very roots of sin, opening the way to full reconciliation to Love. We continue to use an inclusive-language Affirmation of Faith derived from Ephesians 3:15-17, written by John Schimminger of St. John’s-Grace Episcopal Church.
