In the final message of our series on the cross, we explore Communion—one of the most intimate and powerful images Jesus gave us to understand the gospel. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 10 & 11, we see that the Lord’s Supper is more than a symbol; it’s a deep spiritual reality where we participate in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. Andrew Wilson walks us through the four names Christians have historically used for this meal—Communion, the Lord’s Table, the Breaking of Bread, and the Eucharist—unpacking what each reveals about our unity with Christ and with one another.…

This transformative unity surpasses superficial efforts, fostering genuine peace and belonging within God's family.…
In this message, Andrew Wilson looks at Romans 3:21–26 to explore the powerful truth of Redemption — the good news that through Jesus, we’ve been set free from sin and death. To be redeemed means to be bought back. We were slaves, but through the blood of Christ, God has rescued us. It’s a story of freedom through a costly payment. This short passage brings together three big gospel themes — justification, propitiation, and redemption — all fulfilled at the cross. Redemption isn’t just something God did in the past; it changes how we live today and gives us hope for the future.…

In 1 Samuel 8-10 we see the transition of God’s people from a people led by judges to a monarchy. And it isn’t a smooth transition. The people make what seems a reasonable request for a king, but in effect it’s a rejection of the one who has been faithful to them. After God warns them of the consequences, they press ahead. But God, in His grace, takes their unfaithful request and works it for good.…

Hilary highlights practical ways to make faith engaging and relevant for children, highlighting the joy of sharing God's love and the necessity of personal, authentic expressions of faith. It is important that everyone, not just parents, actively contribute to nurturing young people's faith, underpinned by God's grace and our collective responsibility.…

This week we will be looking at how eating together is one of the most effective and important ways to reach people for Jesus. It will require us to understand what it means to practice hospitality in our everyday lives. Jesus' example in Luke 5:27-32 emphasises the power of shared meals and connecting with others. Hospitality in the bible is defined as moving towards strangers (Hebrews 13:2). Hospitality extends to individual, church, and the world, offering a transformative remedy for the prevalent loneliness in the UK. We end by reflecting on The Lord's Supper, urging an understanding of God's hospitality as the main motive for extending hospitality to others.…

Hosea 2 might seem offensive to many of us, and partly that is because the gospel itself is offensive. Many of us are troubled by the description of sin, the reality of judgment and the one-sidedness of grace.

Jesus spends his last few hours before being arrested and going to the cross reassuring his disciples as they are filled with confusion, doubt and fear. He declares he is the way, the truth, the life summing up the heart of the gospel in one phrase. We will look at three aspects of Jesus as the way: Jesus the way to the father, Jesus the way to the holy of holies and Jesus the way to peace. He alone brings us peace in our anxiety.…

Today is the last of our FIRST series – we will look at witness. Jesus called the disciples not just to follow him but he also he sent them out to be witnesses, fishers of men. Jesus promised we would be empowered by the Holy Spirit to witness so how do we start? Is it about individuals or crowds? Words or loving actions? Should we point out people’s darkness or point to the light? Matthew 4:12-25 helps answer these questions.…

When we look at this passage in Galatians, we see that Paul emphasises the gospel and how it has set the Galatians free from being ‘slaves’ to an old way of living. They need to know that they have been set free by the personal saving work of Christ. It is this freedom that reorientates and renews the way in which they think, speak and act. This passage shows us today that we too have been set free to live in a new way, once we have put our faith in Christ. This means that we have the power of the Holy Spirit in us, empowering us to bring justice into the world in a gospel centred way.…
