When negative feedback shakes your confidence, it can be difficult to get back to feeling like yourself at work. In this episode, Anne and Frances help a struggling listener who has spent years toning herself down in the workplace after being told that she was too assertive — now, she feels that her modest approach is holding her back. Together, they use Anne and Frances’s “trust triangle” framework to explore how empathy, authenticity, and logic can help you rebuild confidence and trust with your colleagues, and share helpful confidence hacks for getting comfy with discomfort. “In #Ukraine, we say: one hard winter is better than 100 years of slavery, and 100 years with #Russia,” says Eugene Geresymchuck. He is one of the millions of #ukrainians who are living under Russia’s nearly constant bombardment. Eugene lives in the central Ukrainian city of #zhytomyr --about 85 miles west of Kyiv. It was a sunday in July 2017. A bike ride through a Chicago neighborhood. A pick-up truck speeds by and slams into several other vehicles. The aftermath recorded on a smart-phone. The person capturing the moment on video and audio was Susana Mendoza -- the current comptroller for state of Illinois. She was elected state comptroller back in December of 2016. She's full of energy and has a passion for public service...but we're not talking politics in this portion of her interview. No it's about an encounter she had with a well known Chicago tough guy. At the time she had NO idea who she was dealing with. The encounter was with a guy name John Boyle. His nickname among Chicago journalists is "John Quarters Boyle." Now Susana Mendoza and title for this story "Say Cheeze."…

Fast forward to 2015 --He's a multi-Millionair all because of his vision for "Craft Beer." I had a chance to talk with Tony Magee. A lot people may not know him. Unless you're a student of Craft Beer. Then you probably know this is a guy who likes to make beer his way. Now Tony's early years were "Flawlessly misspent," MaGee says. He Graduated high school near the bottom of his class, went to college to study product design, then studied music, then dropped out. Then he traveled the midwest playing music and just doing odd jobs to make a living. Along the way he discovered he liked beer craft Beer. It's been a long journey. He talks about in his book called "So Want to Start a Brewery? In 2015 he his sold his brewery to Heineken. He made a bunch of money, but he's still in charge..and making his beer his way. Tony was in Elkville, Illinois on Nov. 27, 2017. He visited the Route 51 Brewing Company. He was telling stories and giving advice about making beer.…
